What are you guys using as your trigger on your spray bottles I've been thru three since I got it only a few weeks ago the first one was a heavy duty one from home depot which I thought was made for chemicals. the rest was cheap ones until I could come up with a solution. Thanks in advance
 
after you get done using the WB, flush the sprayer out with water and then take the tubing off and put just the top head back on. when you need to use it again, put the tubing back on...



i used the grey chemical resistant ones and they've worked well for me...
 
Thanks thats the one I have just need to flush it out. good product on the hard brake dust didn't want to stop using.



has anybody use it on powdercoated wheels? is it to strong for those
 
Keep a separate bottle of APC around to flush your sprayers out with. It will basically neutralize the acid (water doen't always work) and it will keep them working for a long time. And, like Al said, I like the gray sprayers too.

you can adjust the nozzle from fine mist to jet spray...
 
Tolco chemical resistant foaming head sprayer. Been using one for 6 years, never flush it and it still is working great.
 
Holy crap - if this stuff is so nasty that it kills plastic spray bottles, I'm not ever letting it get near me or my car!!
 
Do most people apply to a dry dirty wheel or do you rinse the wheel first then apply the product and let it dwell?



Seemed to recall somewhere once reading that water "activates" WB by converting it to an acid etc.
 
I always spray the wheel down with water, actually an electric power washer. Then I spray WB 4:1, and scrub with a wheel brush, and a small sponge for the face of the wheel. I don't use gloves and don't wear a haz mat suit either - I've been doing this for 6 years and have had had no issues. Now - I detail on the weekends, not everyday and I only use WB on the really crappy dirty neglected wheels so take this into consideration ok. Also, I spray a regular APC to neutralize the acid and clean up any left over crud, rinse like crazy and inspect.



BTW - just had my blood tested for the annual insurance forms at work, doc says I'll live to be an old man if the wife doesn't shoot me!
 
As bad as it MAY be, it was reformulated and i don't think the latest version is as harmful as it once was.



Even then, for a weekend detailer .. as long as they are careful and avoid getting into your eyes and use it outdoors. Probably completely a non-issue.



For a pro using it daily, I might be a more careful with it.
 
Thanks for everybodys imput I just swapped out the sprayer for a junk one for storage I will look into the Tolco sprayer because keep switching it can become a hassle.

Less dirt on the surface that the acid has to work through usually means the acid can work quicker and more effectively. Same goes for non-acidic wheel cleaners. Not sure about WB, but all the acid I've used doesn't require water activation. Seems that water would dilute the effect, not actiuvate it.

Acid attacks organics surfaces, dirt, metal, skin etc. So if the wheel is dirty then the acid will attack the unrinsed dirt first and dilute/saturate itself, making it less effective.



Also not sure why some are claimed to be water activated. Unless it is because of the heat generated by adding water to acid. ALWAYS ADD ACID TO WATER! not the other way around.
