Megs vs Chem Bros.

Which of the two would you choose given the options, whether you've used em or not...

it's a plus if you have physically compared them. Meguiar’s #21 SYNTHETIC SEALANT or Chem Guys EXTREME TOP-COAT PAINT SEALANT+ 3X CARNAUBA. Price is great on MGs but protection sounds better on CBs. What are your thoughts?

depends- if your working on a dark color the CG's stuff with carnauba would probably be richer looking. On lighter colors I'd suspect that you might like #21 better

Great, now I need both! You don't think CG's will give the same result on ligher cars? Why?

IMHO, the only valid input would be from people that have actually used these products, wouldn't you think? Same goes for any other product question.

This isn't meant to be a rebuke, just a point to ponder. :xyxthumbs

I haven't used any CG products, but have used lots of Megs. I use NXT sometimes and have ordered #21 from the US but its somewhere over the Pacific at the moment. As I haven't used either I can't comment on appearance, but your question implies an interest in durability. To that end, how about trying the CG duo compared to #21 topped with #26. That sounds like a closer comparison. :D

Also, many know of my love of the Reflections duo.. .why not add that to the mix? You may be impressed.

Doesn't chemical guys make Poorboy's sealants ?

CG Sealant w/carnuba = PB's EX ???

:faint:

Ladies and gentleman, for your safety the captain has requested everyone to please fasten their seatbelts.

my comments were coming from the general trend that pure sealants tend to look best on light colors and blended waxes tend to look better on dark colors- IMO you can't go wrong with Reflections and Top Coat

Just for the record............It's "Chemical Guy's" not "Chemical Bros." ( not trying to be a wise-*** ) Chemical Bros. reminds me of my friend & I back in the mid 80's. (lol)

I just got some of the Extreme top-coat paint sealant so I'll post the results when I get a chance to use it. I'm wondering if it will bond if I use a polish first. It claims it will bond to wax or glazed surfaces but I thought it would have to have direct contact with the paint. Anyone care to comment?

I too would like some opinions on this. I just sent Chemical Guys an e-mail asking this same question. If I get a reply, i will post. Any thoughts???

Yay! I've been waiting for someone to review it before I bite the bullet. :woot:

I don't know what the durability of Extreme Top Coat is but it is easy to apply/remove, has a nice deep and wet look and nice slickness even after a couple rounds of FI to remove dust.
