Megs Uqd

Megs UQD and Finish Kare #425 are pretty similar. UQD is a very nice over the counter detail although is is a bit pricey.

I find FK425 to have a bit more life, though - and it comes in gallons at a darn good price inc. shipping. And how can you say no to the pink color and bubblegum scent?

You can buy Meguiar's M135, which is the pro version of UQD by the gallon "for the cheap" as they say. :up

Water just shrinks away from Meg's UQD. I love it for that. Although it smells nice, it makes my airways itch causing me breathing problems for a couple of hours after. I must be allergic to its mist, so I'm switching products.

They are correct about AW. #921 Fast Clean & Shine is Duragloss's direct equivalent to UQD. AW is seen as a QD by most because many times it gets compared with Zaino Z8. AW is meant to be applied after a wash on a wet car and the protection can last 2 months from what some have claimed. UQD is also a rare type of QD that actually touts its durability as an advantage.

Knowing this information is why I suggested that you use UQD instead of AW. They are not directly competitive products although I could see how they could be confused for doing the same duty. AW should only be used after a car wash, UQD however can be used on a dry or wet car, and it can also be used to clean the dust off.

Where did you get the information that AW should only be used after a car wash? Absoulutely untrue!!!

I just bought my first bottle, I usually use the regular QD. It definitely added a bit of depth and gloss to to my Red VW. I wish it was a bit a cheaper though, they're going for $10 a bottle around here.

If you can get a gallon of M135 for about the same price as Last Touch, which one I should buy. I want to use it for Dust removal, quick touch up, boost for shine & slickness after wash. I know that I can't use M135/UQD for Clay lube but I don't care as I can use car wash soap with water for that purpose, right?

I can get a Gallon of M135 only $3 more than Last touch. So, thinking?????

Thanks,

As far as QD's are concern, you can't beat FK425. At 27.50 a gallon plus $5 shipping you can't go wrong. That's like 4 bucks for a 16oz. bottle.

I'd recommend M135 for your intended use.

I'd also point you to a new product that is coming on the market around Jan-Feb.

Ultimate Quik Wax

I haven't tried this product yet but it looks to be like UQD combined with a sealant/wax that works as a wipe on/wipe off, like UQD, and offering more protection and gloss. They claim it can be applied in direct sunlight and can be used on all plastic trim as well without turning it white. Sounds like UQD on steroids. I'll post a review once I get a bottle. It has the same water repelling properties of UQD. This might be my choice for dust removal and a quick once-over after a wash.

Just to correct some wrong information that was posted on Meguiar's Online (MOL)...

Having tested the pre-production product and then seeing the incorrect information being posted on MOL, I contacted Mike Pennington who had the information corrected.

Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax is not like a QD in that it is NOT a wipe on wipe off kind of product. For best performance, durability and gloss, the product must be allowed to haze before removal. It does haze very quickly, but that step is still required to obtain the maximum performance from the product.

thanks for the clarification, that's what i initally thought (apply, let haze and wipe off). many think that it is a WOWO product...

And that is why I was concerned and hence contacted Mike Pennington about it. If a product is not applied in the manner for which it was designed, people may not get the results they were expecting.
