Megs Question?

I am new to this. I bought some megs #9 swirl remover 2.0 today, then i saw megs 82 swirl free polish. What is the difference? My goal is to remove light marring on an 06 victory red cobalt ss. I was gonna follow it with some #7. Did i make the right choice for a nice deep shine?

Welcome to the forum!!

Not really sure if I am violating any forum rules here but, I might recommend you also check out Meguiars Online . They are almost solely devoted to Meg's products (hence the name) and Mike Phillips is the Obi Wan of detailers and Meg's stuff.

That being said, let me give you my two cents. If you have light swirls I would use the #9 to attack these. Then I would follow up with #82 as a polish to bring out the depth and shine in the paint. Follow that up with #7 and, if I could recommend, seal in the #7 with NXT or #21 and BAM...you got drippin wet paint. I know this sounds like a lot, but generally you only need to do a deep de-swirling the first time and from then on you with need #82 bout twice a year. Just remember to use good wash techniques, ie two buckets, and you are in great shape! :bigups

What i was planning on doing was follow the #9 with #7. I dont have any #82. Would it be ok to do that then seal with nxt or mothers pure carnauba?

I am pretty sure that'd work fine. Give it a try. Whats the worst that can happen. Post your results, I'd like to hear about them and see them if possible

Well, i got it about half way done tonight. I was to tired, felt like my hand was going to fall off! I noticed that the #9 really wasnt doing much for the swirls. Just cant do it by hand i should have a pc by next week. Anyways, i decided to just use #7 followed by #26 to hide them for now. Looks really good so far, impressive depth for hand. Cant wait to see what the pc will do! Ill get pics tommorow when the whole thing is done.

I totally recommend you get a PC. It was my first major detailing purchase and I haven't regretted it! But beware...it's only the beginning of the addiction!!
