Megs Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax

That's over-the-counter consumer grade wax. Iv'e used it once or twice and its complete garbage. Don't get me wrong I use/love Meguiar's products, but that stuff is crap. Just my 2¢.

What have your experiences been with it? Just used it and it doesn't make the paint slick at all....

Yes..over the counter stuff...did you de-contaminate, polish at all? The surface needs to be smooth to get that slickness feel before a wax or sealant/coating.

I basically agree with the above guys. It's not bad for an OTC wax especially if you use the entire system. But the durability is lacking. I have had better luck with the Meg's NXT2.0.

If you are looking for that really slick feel, you will want to clay the finish to get rid of any contamination and then use a sealant. I find that sealants are almost always slicker than waxes.

I guess that's what I get for getting the amateur stuff. But yes I clayed and used XMT3 and then XMT1 first.

I don't think it is a bad wax and it is a nice introduction to the Meguiar's line up. That said, Meguiar's makes a host of better waxes, from Gold Class, NXT, Ultimate, and my favorite, M26.

It was very nice back in the 1980's. But it cost as much then as it does now. Pretty sure Deep Crystal was then what #26 is now. There were both liquid and paste versions of Deep Crystal wax.
