Megs #9 on ?

I have a victory red chevy cobalt with light marring. I am going to polish this weekend, probably with #9. However, i am having trouble choosing a pad to use. White or orange. Any opinions?

#9 is pretty mild, but I would start with the white pad anyway to see if that does the job. If not, you can always step up to the orange pad if needed. It's a good idea to wipe of the polish residue with some QD or water, to make sure none of the marring is hidden by left over polishing oils.

In my experience #9 is *so* mild that using an orange pad probably won't make it behave more aggressively. Just a guess though as I've never tried that combo.

I wouldn't try to clean off the trade secret oils/concealing ingredients (note I didn't say "fillers" ;) ) lest you end up redoing it over and over forever. I'd let it do some hiding and go straight to LSP. Otherwise, I'd choose a different product.

are you using a PC?

If so I would use a more agressive polish, I think #9 will do more hidding then removing of the swirls. If that is what you are after that is fine just so you know!

Foam polishing pad for use with swirl remover polishes:

Removes fine swirl marks.

Restores a high-gloss finish.

I use a Meguiar's SOFTBUFF Foam Polishing Pads with #9 and it work great, and you can use it by hand too, It work great for my CR-V this weekend.

Say:

mild to hard agressive

Clear coat paints Colors like black, Silver, white, red

fine weds to swirls and scratches

good names brands
