Meg's #9 Light Swirl Remover and Showcar Glaze #7

01WJLimited

OTC Home Detailer
Are these products any good? I don't want to wait on shipping since I'm getting my polisher this week, and I can buy these in the same trip. I just need some input or reviews from those who have used these previously. Another kind I can get locally is Mother's PowerPolish (Step 1).

Any input?

#9 is a final polish, stains trim and has fillers. I have found better products...

Mothers PowerPolish is very unique. It is pad dependent and very easy to work with. For hard swirls bust out a cutting pad and crank the PC up. For lighter swirls a polishing pad will do a good job.

Not sure about the showcar glaze...

I know it's not the best, but it's what I can get locally.

I better get my money out of this f*ckin polisher, pads, and polishes. This is too much money to not be satisfied with the results.

PC 7336 - $109
Pads - 17.95 each, will probably get 3 to start with. - $53.85
Polishes - Apparently, since nothing good can be found at stores, Polishes at $12-$25 a bottle, now considering PoorBoy's.

Should be roughly $200. Is all of this worth my money?

You can get any megs mirror glaze product from most of your "bodyshop supply" stores in your area.

My first polishes for my PC were Megs #83 & Megs #80.

Good med and light polish combo.

$200 is well worth it.

Sorry to say but you are the only one who can say if your going to be satisfied with your polisher.

as far as the products,

budman3 stated "#9 is a final polish, stains trim and has fillers."... this is true. Meg's #9 is a light polish and depending on how bad the finish is your working on you may need to reapply this product to get the results your looking for.\

Glaze #7 as per the Meg's web site "Show Car Glaze outshines all other hand applied polishes, glazes, waxes and sealants. Restores a dazzling, deep, wet shine. Show Car Glaze does not dry white and is safe and effective on all paint finishes.".... note HAND?... as for the end results there are better choices out there. Poorboy's is not a bad choice but as far as I know Pb's is not available over the counter yet. if your just trying to find a product over the counter to hold you over till you get some Pb's here are a few I sugest: M82 Swirl Free Polish, M83 Dual Action Cleaner/Polish (aka DACP) for polishes. The M-83 is a product that I have not seemed to master yet. and can be found in some NAPA, Autozone, and Car Parts stores. that covers the polishes.

waxes/sealants are a whole new topic...We here at DC are split on the choice of what is better wax or sealants so your going to have to find you niche on that one. just about ever one out here has paid for products that are not doing what we want them to do, you are not going to be any different, sorry to let you down like that but it's the truth. we have all been there done that and what I might suggest is going to be the best out there, don't work as you expect it to then you get Pissed at me.

So you want to be satisfied without the best products? That probably isn't going to happen. You could try the products that you listed and then get some 'better' ones down the road if you want but chances are once you try out the 'good stuff' you won't go back to the OTC stuff which = waste of money. So it's up to you- get what you can locally and hey, you might like it. It's just that most of the people here buy from online distributors and that's what most of us will recommend because they are what work the best.

LISTEN TO ME! :)

Go to yellowpages.com or to your yellow book and look up the category

"bodyshop"

and look for bodyshop supply, paint and body supply, ect.

Look for the ones in your area.

The majority only carry either 3M, Meguiars, or a combination of both.

After that, preferably, get #83 and #80

You will not be left down. Not the easiest or best of products, but as most megs products, they get the job done!

I might as well order them. If I'm going to be pissed off when I find out the OTC stuff doesn't do much, I'll be mad that I spent that much on a polisher.
