Megs #21 separated ***???

Well after walking the dog I came home to find a voice mail on my mobile. It was someone from Megs telling me that because I did not purchase the full size half gallon I should take the issue up with whom ever I bought it from. These guys just do not listen. They stated that any size other than the 64oz would have to be recovered from the person that I bought it from. I give up; I’m not going to try anything else to get an answer from Megs.

Djmgs I did try several different methods to solidify the product and none have worked. Both samples were that way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

64 oz size is the smallest available, right?

Should Meg's support anything smaller? They have no control over that... They don't know if it was frozen, radiated, diluted, or remanufactured...

I'd be reluctant to jump on Customer Service.

(If you've been reading earlier posts, you'll recall that I have the separation issue with #21, also.)

FOR THE RECORD: The #21 I sent to Lebowski was NOT seperated in the bottle, was shaken BEFORE being put into the sample bottles, has NEVER frozen, and works fine for me (I JUST did a test spot to be sure). So :nixweiss

I wonder since everyone transfer 21 into sample size botttles they may not be as high quality and maybe allow air to enter or the product to gas out.....

? for everyone who has 21 those of you who do, have you pour your product of 21 into another bottle both or either small sample size or large 16oz sizeso you dont have to carry then who 64oz.....

hey Rc if you have time and another small sample size bottle pour some 21 in it and dont use it for some time a week or two or three max a month up to you.....dont touch or shake it at all and see how it turns out......it up to you if you decide to experiment....i have 21 but no small sample size bottles or else i would try...

unless it due to these products are being distrubed by the way they r del by plane maybe....

I have 2 8oz bottles of 21 that Meg's sent me..I have not used them and they have been sitting for a month now..I just went to check them and they are ok..I shook them and squeezed some out..looks good..purple and creamy..the bottles are flip tops and seal good..they have meg's labels on them also...

now I taped the tops..so it won't spoil before I get to try it....

The bottle I keep my 21 in is a 8oz condiment-style bottle that has no cap, so it is exposed to air 24/7

Miguel, here's the thing: I had not touched my 21 for months before sending some to Lebowski. Again, I'm  :nixweiss :hm about this whole thread, the 21 is working fine for me.

That was my thought, but I assume that USPS sends its stuff in pressurized planes..

M21 seperates no matter what because it is water-based. If you find too much water coming out, then add some in yourself (assuming that you store your M21 in small bottles like I do).

You're kidding!

It's a pure sealant, so DON'T add water...it'll interfere with its curing.

What Meg's #21 shows, is the typical water-in-oil emulsion behavior. Here the oil is the continuous phase, with the water suspended as droplets. The most common type of instability in water-in-oil polishes is “oiling out of the phases (this is what Mike Phillips calls as "product sweating"). This happens because of the natural tendency of the less dense solvents to collect at the top of the polish. Usually this can be normally redispersed by shaking. To eliminate this tendency, the manufacturers can make the emulsion extra thick to reduce the mobility of the phases. Meg's has to improve the stability of the #21.

I have a minor separation in my 12 oz ADS bottle as well, but I am able to re-establish the normal cosistency with minimal shaking, and never experienced streaking or cloudiness.

Somewhat on topic, but I get separation in my jug of #21, as well as considerable outgassing (the container bulges every few days and I have to let out the pressure). Weird. Haven't had any problems with the product, regardless. A good shake and it's fine.

92MX83, your 21 is farting...ha

I'm the guy that started that thread at MOL.. What really sucks is I got horrible streaking on a black Vette I detailed, and the owner was very unhappy with the result. Now I have lost a decent customer, who had orginally wanted to have all 6 of his other toys detailed me (so I am out well over 1000 and probably closer to 2000 dollars).

Easy remedy to that is to strip the #21 and use another product. That's just one of the reasons that I carry a few products and always a non abrasive paint cleaner.;)
