Meg's #21 durability question

On Meguiars.com click on cusomer care top middle then bottom left click on (MDS) fata sheet give them an email address so you can log in see what is in thier products
When we went on vacation this summer I washed above the beltline with Z-7 wash below the beltline used Optimum wash. When got back rinsing off before wash where used Z-7 the dirt mostly came off below the beltline where use OPTI dirt pretty much stuck to it.

The one I do notice about usein Meg's 21 is when the car is in the carport and it rains moisture collects on the vehicle it gives an odd look.

Duragloss is but in certain lifght angles it looks bad like when pic is taken half the car is sun the other half is in shade the sun side looks glossy but the non sun part looks washed out no color kinda dead looking.

MONGO After reading this I have to ask have you actually used Duragloss.
I"m betting you have not used it.
I have Dg on my show car and when I go to a show I park under a tree if I can because I think it looks better in the shade than in the sun but looks dam good in sun or shade.
Here is a link to a photo that I took with the car parked between two trees with sun comeing through. Paint sure don't look dead to me.

No I have not tried the 105 but did use the 111 years ago.
I recently went to NAPA and got some of 901 wash really good remiscent of Zaino.
I emailed Jerry a couple months ago and asked about putting 111 on top of 105 he said it would be good idea Bart have you tried this. My thinking is the 105 is darker while the 111 is clearer and brighter might be a good combo plus is in same product line.

I am not going any further with the 21 its going to be Zaino, Duragloss , or Meg's deep crystal system would rather use that instead of NXT.

Do I have issues or what:confused:

I do not have a PC and at this stage not gonna buy one so cleaning would be washing then Meg's deep crystal cleaner or P21S Paintwork Cleansing lotion which produces smooth paint but would still neeed to rewash before using the Duragloss or Zaino not gonna clay= marring to me.:D

THANKS JOE & AL I think it looks pretty good for a 18 year old car
Probably not of interest to most on a detailing forum but on the dyno this car put 1038 horsepower to the rear wheels that would be close to 1200 hp at the flywheel.
It does a pretty good job of pulling a little plastic car around. :yay

How does the 105 do in resisting marring from washing and such?

years ago I used 111 without the bonding agent on a few panels it did pretty good kinda softer than some sealants .

Sealants being sealnts are hard by nature and accumulate swirls .
there is nothing that willl protect better than the clearcoat itself all this is just beautyfying the finish it most certainly needs washing or using something like Opti- ONR on it to get floating tree sap and particulate matter off the paint.
If I do use Duragloss i will order some 111 and for the 3rd coat will put that on or half the lenght wise as to compare and see how it looks and holds up then use aquawax every month.
the 105 does have abrasives in it though prolly not much on a scale of 1 to 10 it would be 2 at most.

:P the onlyy engine shot is really over exposed! you have been detailing under the hood too much! All I can see is the plumbing for some nitrous

Mongo...the 105 will be lots better than the 111....there is no real abrasive except a very mild chemical cleaner..which could be called a chemical abrasive for cleaning...I found it has near no cleaning abilities...
....it will layer upon it self....Jerry himself said 2 layers 3 tops will give you the best durable protection...and also the hardest shell...if it had a 2 on the scale it would be able to do minor marring corrections..and it will not do it....will barely take a water spot off...

the gloss and wetness factor between 105 and 111 is substantial....and 105 keeps the original look alot better...111 is no slouch..but 105 is steps ahead....

I have used wool mitts and have not induced any marring to speak of....I used a cotton mitt once or twice and did notice some wash marring..now the cotton is used for wheels and the bed of the truck...

I have not used 111 only 105. I have not had any problems with marring from washing but I"m very careful about washing you can induce swirls into any surface with improper washing technique.

SNEEK here is more photos of the engine they are not real good either all that chrome makes it hard to take a picture without glare.

How long does 21 keep its look, I can look at the Meg's forum but wanted an independent perpective. After a couple of weeks the 21 sheets instead of beeds which is fine that what it is supposed to do sheeting is better than beeding.

I found it similar to NXT in durability. It looks great initially, and resists the water from "sticking" to the paint. However, after 3-4 washes, the look is barely there, and the water tends to "stick" to the paint. This was my experience having NOT QD'd the paint while the sealant was on. Mongo, if you want any to play around with, I can send you a sample. Email me: RCBuddha1@gmail.com
