Meg's #21 durability question

How long does 21 keep its look, I can look at the Meg's forum but wanted an independent perpective. After a couple of weeks the 21 sheets instead of beeds which is fine that what it is supposed to do sheeting is better than beeding.

I used the synthetic sealant before, it was an ok product, and only used it on my own vehicles. I felt it didn;t hold up or apply as easy as P&S and PB. After 5-6 washings I noticed they sealant wasn't doing its job well any longer..

it can sheet water when you wash it, but when it rains it still beads, #21 lasts a pretty long time but i still re apply a few coats every so often

3 weeks ago I put on a coat of #21 on my car . 2 weeks ago I topped it with AW. I washed it today , and it looks like I just waxed it. My car sits outside 24/7. I know that 2 and 3 weeks dont seem like a lot of time , but it not only looks good , it looks perfect.

I like 21. I put 2 coats on my truck a month ago and still seems to be holding good. One of the better sealants I have used IMO.

Yea I was thinking of the 21 and Aquawax combo.
Then using # 00 Hi-Tich car wash from Meguiars since it a vegetable based wash it has no polymers in it which might degrade the aquawax finish only has optical brighteners in it.
As a QD i would use meg's final inspection or duragloss.
this would be acheap combo too
don't have a PC so Pssales ulatracoat is out of for me at leat for now

My car is dark green!

It seems to me that AW over anything works great. My son has a silver Honda CRV that I used AW over Poorboys EX and it came out great also.

OK I may have to go with this combo we have Champaign gold colered car really is a good color depth wise and reflection , the other is white.

but if I use the aquawax then I might as well use the 105 from duragloss although over the 21 it would look different plus the aquawax has a bit more pop than the 105.

Meg's#21 is quite underated,IMO.I have been testing this product for the last three months, and i feel that it is quite durable,at least there most durable product despite what they may claim about NXT.The key to lasting results with this product, and many others eg fk1 2180,is making sure you apply several layers, over several weeks after washing.I personaly found that if i applied a fresh layer each week after a wash,by the third or forth week,i could feel and see that there was substantial protection from the elements, the main thing that i noticed was very good resistance to water spotting which wasn't apparent with only two coats. Also, despite what others claim,at least for me i find the product beads for ever and doesn't 'sheet' water at all.I hope this may be helpfull.

Good discussion; also it helps from what I have read is not to put it over alot of glazes or oils. This will prevent it from getting a good bond to the paint; while something Meg's #9 polish would be ok probably.

Duragloss from what I have read really keeps the dirt off.

Larry how much of the look improvement would you say is the Aquawax itself or the combo Aquawax over the #21. I am guessing its the Aquawax from what you said, from what I read the duragloss stuff is about the most protective stuff out there plus nuthin stiks to it.

thanx mongo

The #21 made the color deeper and seem to cover up some scratches. The AW made it more reflective, and made it slicker without ruining the depth. I think AW over anything works great.

One thing that bothers me - "making sure you apply several layers, over several weeks " now what if you're detailing a customer's car, you want to tell him to come back ever few weeks? I don't, I want to apply a sealer and have it look great and last at least a few months - so far WG meets that requirement, but I'm looking hard at DG stuff.

I have not used #21 for over a year so maybe they have improved it but I don't think they have.
When I tried it I found it to be a little better than NXT but didn't take long before it lost gloss. I think the reason the 21 is holding up for those with AW over it has more to do with the AW than the 21.
Since your going to use AW to make the 21 last why not just use DG 105 it cost less than 21 has much more gloss and lasts much much longer.
I put AW over Pinnacle Souveran and it increase the gloss if it Will make PS look better then it is going to improve the rest also.

Remember the "trade secret oils". They are so secret that after a wash they disapear. That's why the appearance falls off.

Unless you just wanted to wax your car every few week I don't understand why you would pay $19.00 for a bottle of #21 when 105 is less than 10 bucks it looks better and lasts several times longer. At my age my knees are bad and my back is worse so I no longer want to wax every week.
The first time that I used DG on my show car it won best of show.. I put it on my Ranger over three months ago and it still looks awesome.
My truck is kept in a garage though so it has not been in much weather but I see no loss in the gloss yet. Only thing I have found that I don't like about DG is it seems to fingerprint real easy so I carry a MF towel with me and when the prints on the door get to bothering me I wipe it off..

I did not know there were those TS oils in 21.

I use P21S to clean then Danse Speed Glaze followed by 21 a week later wahed with Meg's #62 was it looked stunnig better than anything I have ever used Collonite, UPP Klasse twins, Zaino the pre-pro days.

After the third wash it was still looking great but then added the second coat it muted the Danase glaze does not look as good but have other car to do so wiil find out will not add second coat of 21 to see how it does with one coat
The # 62 wash is really good.
