Just looking for some opinions on it. I've never seen it before, and eshine says it's "rare" lol. Good, bad, somewhere in the middle? Thanks for the heads up

The wax is considered rare dure to the fact that Meguiar's has discontinued sales in the US but they are still producing it for export. I really like #16 it has good durability,adds a glow to the paint that is hard to describe, it beads water like crazy, and a little goes a really long way. It is considered a hard wax and you should apply a really thin coat and when it hazes remove it. You will know when you applied to much because after it dries it is hard like concrete.

Thanks for the info. I did, in fact, search, but I think the search on this site fails, it didn't even find anything for '#16'. I'll use google or something next time. Thanks
 
I wonder if it's a lot like the FK 1000P. Thats a pretty tough wax and you have to do it thin !!!! and also is pretty bullet proof.



Anyone ever compare the 2 ? I have not used #16 so don't know . Just sounds similar.

I have used both..IMO #16 blows 1000P away......

There was a #16 question the other day acutally. This is an older product which provides good durability and has a low cost. On its own it doesnt bring a whole lot of looks to paintwork.



Modern replacements for #16 would easily be FK1 Pink wax. Although the PW is has polymers and gets better are after it has cured i found it to be a new "16" so to speak. Durable, good looking and quite easy to use!



When speaking of #16 everyone forgets a product that has been out there for long time too Mother Cali. Gold Pure Nuba Paste Wax. Like 16 you can expect a good 12 weeks durability (if not longer) with reasonable beading. Unlike 16 it provides slightly warmer look.

#16 is "the paste wax that turns liquid" when you apply it, especially when it's applied via PC/etc. Applied properly (i.e, thin), it buffs off easily; applied improperly (i.e, too thick) it can be a PIA.



Between the durability, beading, and application characteristics, it's one wax you really need to try for yourself to understand what all the fuss is about. Looks-wise it's sorta like P21S only it's a much "heavier" wax.

That's for sure! I use it quite often and a can lasts me over a decade. The tiny bit left around the bottom rim of the "empty" can was enough to do my wife's A8, which isn't a small car.

Many shops here in Europe sell #16. Try contact them for shipping to US. :2thumbs:

I went the other way and this morning put on FK 1000p. :nana:

Its funny how you get away from something and then rediscover it. :cooleek:
 
#16 is my summer wax, it's just to darn hot to be out reapply product. #16 has lasted 3/4 months with ease for me. I normally use "Pink Moose" under it it help it the looks department. It it does have a very nice glow on white.

Being there is only one place in North America that still sells it, I'd say it's rare ;)
 
I just did two vehicles with #16 after reading this thread, hadn't visited that was in a long time and since I have two pots, why not?



Even though I didn't exactly go thin on it, it didn't come off TOO difficult and left both vehicles looking very nice. Great wax, no complaints here...

Agreed. Really nice glow. :)



Excellent durability and it doesn't stain trim. Pretty amazing for a wax developed in the early 50s.
