please do because this was on soft paint, both black - M3 and a mustang...works fine on harder paints...

I had zero issues when I used Megs D151 on the 2007 Honda Civic. No pigtails or trail marks you were describing. I used M105 on the truck as it was really scratched from either boxes or a bag or something being dragged across the truck area.

M105 on trunk, D151 with an orange LC pad on both doors, roof, rear quarter panels. D151 with a white LC pad on hood and two front panels (whole front end was replaced couple months ago from an accident, so it was in good shape) and then D151 and with white pad over entire back half, then 1 coat Megs M20 poly-sealant

I think I know what your talking about with the zig zag marks. I got those using a orange LC pad on a 9227 on a filthy car that I was pulling dirt out of even after claying. it was just left over "wax" that was squeezing out as i worked it in. A quick blast over it with more 151 seamed to have cleaned it up. It didn't leave any marring thankfully.

I had the same exact problem to the "T" with my black 2007 pathfinder. I tried several different techniques with my PC, pad combo, pressure, buffing time, etc. When I was finished EVERYTIME after an IPA wipedown I saw this patter on my paint. I tried it with several pad sizes and colors. My paint is SOFT and I don't think D151 can be used as a one stepper for soft paint. Any other opinions? I had to use IP and FPII to clean it up!

Agreed. I could not get it to finish down buffer trail free on a blue Subaru with a PC and no bite pad.

I had the same problem on a honda fit... I had the PC on speed 6 on a orange pad and it did that. So I went over it with speed 5 and it took them out. What speed where you using on the pc? maybe you need to slow the speed down:nixweiss

The only other times I tried it and it worked was on light colors:

Early 2000's Mazda B2500 Silver Truck

Mid 2000's Silver Honda Accord

2009 Kia Sportage White

All 3 were done with D151 5.5 white pad speed 3 spread 6 for a few passes lightened up pressure maybe 2-3 light passes. Everything checkout great under the lights and in the sun. I've only tried it with black once on my own personal vehicle and had all the problems above that I stated and like the original poster having (((((((((( and then ))))))))))))) marks etc.

I'm using it as a one step on light colors for now on unless someone can acutally show pictures after multiple IPA wipedowns in the sun on black or dark blue with no lsp!

i heard nothing but great things about this product. i hope it gets figured out cause i just ordered a gallon of this stuff last night haha

i use 151 with DA today , with a heavy polish pad (green 5inch LC) i fallow with 205 on polish pad to make sure is no ((( )))) fun.

car came up nice (i35 infinity dark silver)

i think 151 is picky

I think it's the trade secret oils....

With all of Meguiars products that contain these oils--Lsp's pure polishes, or otherwise, I have seen these issues.

IME it has to do with the paint systems, not the hardness/softness of the paint, Some paints will come out with an even finish, others will have the marks. The fix IMO is to swich polishes...

FWIW, when I experience these marks with Meguiars LSP's it is usually because I applied it too thin with the PC. I know this sounds crazy, but I actually apply Meguiars LSP's thicker with the pc so that I get a more even layer of the TSO's. This has solved the problem for me--never an issue when applying by hand. BTW, removal is the same, but you will use all quadrants of a 16x16 MF...

I hate finicky products and this fits the bill, I got rid of my 151 and never looked back. IMHO, I don't care for AIO's - it's easier to just use a polish and good LSP.
