Measuring paint thickness

Hey guys, do you do this on EVERY vehicle which you use a PC on? Do I need to purchase one of these machines for my weekend outfit?

What are u working on with the PC....? If u are using the PC for waxing then u might not need it. But if u are removing defects, imperfections, swirls, scratches every weekend then it's a good idea. Altho if u are using mild polishes eg. OP, M80, MFP...eh lets say twice to four times a year. U should need not worry bout the Clear Coat being polished out. Hehehe... :chuckle:

PC no. I've never read on here where anyone using a PC has gone thru cc.

Rotary yes. Some have burnt cc/paint and some have not. I would own an ETG if I was using a rotary on customers' cars. My .01.

The most I'd probably ever get for my own personal use is a magnetic gauge. I know they're not nearly as accurate as the electronic ones, but there's no way I could justify the expense of an electronic one just for my own use.

I'm using a PC, with tools such as VM, RMG, kAIO, and Sonux SFX 2. Still need to measure paint?
