Me no like white paint any more

I like the look of some cars in white, but overall, I would never own one. I own two black vehicles at this point.

Are you a sadist? lol

I bought a 94 black Mustang GT convertible and loved it, until I started having to keep it looking good. Shortly after that we got rid of the maroon Astro Van and got a white Lincoln Navigator. I was originally looking for a black Navigator and so glad I couldn't find one to my liking as it would have been a bear to keep looking good as the Mustang is work enough. White may not be the most glamorous color but it can certainly look very rich when done right and is easy to maintain. My son has a pearl white Cadillac and it looks absolutely stunning when detailed. I would have a very hard time getting another black vehicle. Just to much damn work.

But at the end of the day, nothing beats a black vehicle:sadwavey: :grinno: :2thumbs:

I could never own a different colored truck after having a black one.

Nothing beats black for one nanosecond after you've wiped off the last of your wax or sealant at the end of a detail.

Of course, 5 seconds later you have to head to the other end of the vehicle to wipe of the visible dust that's already accumilated.

P.S.: Nobody who owns a black truck actually needs a truck or uses it as a truck.

Real trucks are white:

Until the next weekend when you start all over again, :LOLOL .

Don't get me wrong, I love my black Mustang after a nice day of detailing. I just hate having to baby it so much. I can have my white Navigator looking sharper than 90% of the cars on the road in about 20-30 minutes and often times less.

some silly people think white is harder to keep clean. I love taking care of my white Subaru, the black VW, hell I just walk by it and want to wash a panel and start polishing :(

Most people who know me by now don't even ask what color car I bought when I get new (used) ones. I always say the "right" color is black. Except that is a lie. I love black, almost all of my cars have been black. Everytime I buy a car I say the next will be an easier color to maintain, and when it comes time to change again somehow I always wind up with black. Black is great if you can deal with all the random scratches.

I love my white Caddy. I'm getting another one when I get done with this one!

I love my Olympic White Escalade also. It is not SS and oxidation is non-existent. Would not even contemplate owning a vehicle of this size and my anal natural toward detailing in any other color except silver. White can be very reflective, glossy and deep if detailed properly and a good LSP to protect it.

Ha ha...

I remembered years ago my cousin came and visited me in Chicago in his white car.

He was telling how much he loved white cars but they were bears (forgive the pun here) to keep clean. I must have given him the strangest look because he kept asking me afterward what did he say wrong. Perhaps, his idea of keeping a car clean was to wash it once a year?

I love white cars it's just so simple and clean and pretty much always looks good. I've even had white wheels with my white cars. Now thats dedication and love White 20 spoke wheels with Hawk HP+ pads that dust like MAD! Every wheel all 4 wheels came off the car for a cleaning.

I have love for black as well but I'm way too OCD to own one again I would never stop cleaning it.

i'm sure most manufacturers use a base-coat clear coat on all white paint. they aren't going to change teh process for one color.

I'm not so sure it is "most," I'd say more like half. You can't usually tell till the vehicle is 5 or 6 years old, but if you look at older white vehicles, you will find that most of them are dull from oxidation (cause they are SS paint). All the white Tundras and Accords (otherwise two of my favorite daily drivers) that I have seen use ss paint - frequent polishing will keep them glossy, but I still dislike ss paint.

Why do they still use SS for white cars?

This is the question of the hour. Though I love my white Tundra, I hate the fact that it looses slickness (and gloss) so fast now that it's nearly 6 years old. It's glossy, but only because I polish it frequently. All the 2000 -2002 white Tundras I've detailed for others have been extremely chaulky :(

Pretty much any time you can see the metallic in white paint, it's going to be the preferable base coat/clear coat paint - Cadi does it right.
