Mb S65 Amg

I only had a ride in it. He tells me that the insurance on the car only allows him and MB dealership people to drive the car. I think its listed as an exotic car and that how that insurance usually works. My shop is at my house.

I wish you had better QUALITY pictures of this car.

Ferrari has a $20000 option for certain paint as well.

but you do realize this car only has a $2300 paint option.

Actually the owner might be right there is a special paint for the new body style S-Class. Its part of the Designo series of paints. I just dont know if thats the paint...

Nice work btw!

Nice car...

The owner is also pulling your chain about the hp. It's 604 not 640, and 738 lb ft. of torque! The engine is capable of over 1000 lb ft., but is limited because of the transmission.

That exotic car insurance thing sounds a little strange as well...

The car is Beautiful and looks really clean but this client is embellishing just a tad.

The paint option can be as high as the 23,000 if it is a paint to match(provided swatch), the stock wheel size for that car is 20" inches also MSRP for the three I have worked on was 168,000.00 plus the luxury tax and sales tax and the paint to match would not bring the total to the customer claimed 240,000.00.

In this case I think you might have a guy who likes to stretch the truth on his cars to come off as a Big Baller type, people who can really afford the best usually do not make these type of claims as the car speaks for itself.

This proved itself to me recently when I had a guy that called for a quote on his Four 599 GTB Ferrari's, so I asked you have four of the same model? "oh yea I get them cheap from a special source" further into the conversation the real truth comes to light as I say "well I can give you real good deal since you have all four cars in on spot and I will just knock them out for you" then came the reply "well the cars are scattered at my HOMES all around the country" okay no problem as a man of your considerable means can fly me to the location to handle these jobs for you...... he replies ohh ahh well... how would that work and I know say to him "you called ME to get the cars detailed".

We finally get together for an estimate, and when I get to the MANSION the home is a track home nicer than my place by far but not a multimillion dollar estate, the car he has me look at is a Lexus LX570 which is a really nice SUV but not a Ferrari 599 GTB, now I tell him that I came to estimate a job on a Ferrari as I do not work on SUV's. At this time he informs me I have to prove myself on the Lexus to make sure I am qualified, I reply alright no problem(now I KNOW the guy is full of it) let me see the Ferrari first to see the condition of the car and we will go from there..... he now gets his panties in a bunch and tells me " I do not have to prove to YOU I own a Ferrari but I will, look here is the key to the car and he throws the key to me(bad move) here is why the key has a leather key chain with it and he forgot to take the Wynn Ferrari price badge sticker which was very small on the backside($ 32.00) which I point out to him and watch him now squirm and stammer, after this I started laughing and just walked out of his garage.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but I remembered this guy when I read this post.

That is fantastic. So he had NOTHING better to do than to waste your time living out his fantasy. Unreal.

Meanwhile, I have an estranged relative (who lives next door to some beloved relatives) who took delivery on a 599 last month. Sad that I'll never touch the thing...

BTW--that AMG will probably be worth half of its value in 4 or 5 years. They depreciate at an ALARMING rate.

Last I checked in Dec, S class were running a little over 10 g off, the AMG models goes for 20K and 30K off retail for the 6.3 and 6.5 respectively. A fully loaded S65 with Designo paint combo, pano roof, fancy back seats and all the bells and whistels for a little over 160k. Those are standard AMG fare at 20", definitely not 22s.

I do know some people who have the need to stretch the truth and talks to others as if they are idiots who cant think and expect us to be wowed by them.

May be to compensate in other lacking areas :nixweiss:nixweiss

Nevertheless it is still a great beast with insane gobs of power to boot. Havent rode in one but I am sure it is a steep upgrade from my lowly 550.

The paint is probably the Designo Mystic white. The paint and the Designo interior is a $15,000 option not $23,000. My wife's S550 has that option so I am certain of that. There was a special edition CL65 that had a rediculuosly hich price in the upper $200,000 range with a very special paint nut it was a silver color not the white.

The more I think about this, the more I realize that you were VERY wise not to do business with him. He would have ABSOLUTELY found a way to refuse to pay you--I guarantee it.

"You missed a spot--I'm nt paying you" I can just picture it.

I first apologize for the pics not being very good. I'll get better ones in a few weeks. Second, I had no idea this thread woould create such a stir. I don't know much about MB....my bad for not knowing the facts. I really don't care if the car is worth 2k or 200k, its a car, and its money in my pocket. Mabey I'll post a pic of all his MB that I detail...that will get things going! Thank you for all the comments.

After 600hp, does it really matter??
