Mazda 3 with a New Look

Gen2

I have detailed this car twice before and about 1 month ago the owner decided to send the car for a respray to the Mazda True Red color. A very striking color but the only problem is, after the respray the car came with some free swirls and hologram. So once again the owner came to me to get those last bits of imperfection out of the car. Since the car just came out from the painter shop, there were quite a bit of over spray on the car too, so a thorough claying is needed to get rid of that.

It actually skipped my mind taking the before photos, so there will only be the after photos in the posting. The process is as follow,

1. wash

2. clay

3. Power Gloss + cutting pad + cyclo (certain areas)

4. Intensive Polish + polishing pad + cyclo

5. Prime Strong + finishing pad + DA @ speed 4

6. AJ Trigger applied with extra plush MF towel by hand.

Let’s take a look at the photos,

Personally I feel this car looks much more striking in this new color as compare to its former VelocityRed color.

What you did to the rear bumper ? I mean the black part. I also have a mazda3, but Titanium Gray. That color looks Nice !

wow, AJ:T looks awesome on red. Did the AJ:T make your car more orange or more magenta? or neither? I have a red car too and I hate the magenta look some waxes gives off.

mongo - Thanks for your compliment :)

awahl63 - It was 1 month after he resprayed the car than I did the detailing for him and I certainly hope the paint has outgassed.

evenflow - Thanks for the comments, recently I have been doing a few cars with IP followed by Prime Strong, this help me to save one step and the results turn out great too.

Rafa - The owner painted that portion black on purpose and I thought it looks great too.

Bigpoppa3346 and red02accordv6 - The JW Trigger really makes this car looks wet and glossy, clear and reflective. I would say the Trigger tends to preserve the look of the original color with a bit of darkening effect.

Scottwax - Thanks for comments, personnally I like the 3rd and the 4th shot in the posting, that's exactly how the car looks like in person :D .

imacarnut - Thanks for your compliment and I have somthing to add to your comments

clean look with no badges = easier detailing work (no worry of cutting the pads) :D
