Mazda 3 Detail in Cincinnati

It was my sister's car's turn now. It's an '06 Mazda 3 with about 35k on the clock. The car has been pretty neglected, usually getting a drive-thru wash once or twice a year. There was tar caked all over it, scratches from her fingernails above the door handles, swirl marks galore... I decided to put some serious time into this one, and it ended up taking me two full days to get the car looking good inside and out.

Started with a two bucket hand wash using meguiars NXT wash. Actually did the engine first with some simple green. Used a microfiber pad and bug and tar remover to get 90% of the tar and bug spots off. Did a quick wipe over the areas I had cleaned the tar off to remove any excess product. Cleaned the wheels with Meguiars wheel cleaner and a brush. Dusted the car, then clayed it with a Clay Magic blue bar. This successfully removed any remaining surface contaminents. Washed the car again to get all of the clay lube off. Used PB SSR2.5 with an orange pad. Went to SSR1 on a white pad, then Finishing Touch Glaze on a white pad. Worked on some Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket, then gave the car a couple coats of P21S carnauba.

btw-saw your screenname and guessing you're a DMB fan. RIP LeRoi Moore. I was all teared up yesterday reading the news.

sorry BOT

Wow that looks great. I LOVE the color (The high flake red) that Mazda has and your combo really set it on fire. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! It's no 50 hour job on a Gallardo but... hehe

I think my personal Z4's upcoming detail might end up spreading across a week. I know it can use it!

Xenia (or so) eh?? I'm up that way autocrossing pretty regularly.

I actually do my work at my dad's place in West Chester. My condo in NKY isn't the best place to work on my car. PM me if you really want help with a car! I'm picking up a badly oxidized 944 in Centerville to work on this weekend. Might be my biggest challenge yet.
