Ok if its somewhat decent out im going to try and clean the jetta and f150. But i dont know who mix the APC, Bug squash, spray and rinse, etc. I know i see some guys talking 2:1, 3:1 and so on. What are the numbers representing?

usually water to product;)
 
Example:

I mix meguiars hyper dressing 2:1

thats 2 parts water to 1 part dressing.

Example 2:

I mix meguiars apc 10:1

thats 10 parts water to 1 part apc.


Some bottles have dilutions right on the side, making it really easy to find your proper mixture. Hope that helps.

i understand its water:product but how much? I mean i have a chemical spray for lawn products that i'll be using to get under the frame, in the engine bay and probably rims/tires/wells. Its roughly 2.5 gallons. How much apc would i need if i put in 2 gallons? thats my problem figuring out larger amounts,hell even regular spray bottles i can't figure out.
 
Well let think of it this way, assuming we are mixing 32 oz the product:

Water/Chemical

1:1 16oz. 16oz.
2:1 21oz. 11oz
3:1 240z. 8oz.


5:1 I just take 32/6= roughly 5 so 5x5 =25 and then 32-25=7 so the ratio is 25oz of water and 7 oz. of chemical.

make sense?

i'll have to check what size spray bottles i have in the garage. I do use the quart bottle from Steve for my spray and rinse.

1 Quart = 32 oz. so the 1:1 ratio would be 16 oz. of each.
Greg gave you a pretty good start for using quart (32oz.) bottles.
