Maxi-Suds vs. BodyWash

I bought both but I have only tried them once each, back in the spring (must have been after Sherman was asking), so I don't remember perfectly. The MaxiSuds has no scent, seems to be a good effective wash, rinsed clean. The Body Wash is heavy with waxy polymers (kind of like Meg's Gold Class) so it's very slick, but prone to streaking if you let it dry on the car, or don't dry quickly enough after rinsing.



My general impressions were that they were both decent washes at good price points if you can buy them by the gallon and get a reasonable shipping rate (at the time CG's was charging something like $17 for each gallon for ground shipment to me, so I wound up buying a pint of each from Danase). I have bought so many different washes to try that I haven't gotten back to using them again recently.
 
I have maxi suds and I hate it. THe smell is a really nice fruity smell but never get very much suds, and the suds dont last long. Granted its not the suds that totally make up a good wash but the extreme lack of suds with the maxi for me just doesnt appeal for me.

Hmm...I looked it up and I got mine in February...mine has no scent, and IIRC it wasn't really any "sudsier" than anything else, but it did seem fine and rinsed clean.
 
Another thread back from the dead! LOL! I have since tried both washes, I couldn't contain my curiousity...

Whoa, mine must be from a totally different batch! My Maxi-suds foams like there's no tomorrow and it lasts a really long time too. I typically use .5 oz. to fully wash a mid-size SUV (not including wheels), and I still have plenty of suds left at the end. If mid-wash the suds drop a bit, I just shoot some more water into the bucket and voila instant massive suds.



Oh, and Setec, mine has a nice light cherry scent too.........



My impression of BodyWash is that it is very similar to Maxi-suds but with a strong candy grape scent. Just like Maxi, it suds amazingly, is very economical, and has awesome lubricity. IDK why, though, but it doesn't seem to add any slickness or gloss for me. :nixweiss
 
i have maxi-suds 2 from GC. Works pretty well. Compared to my NXT wash i've been using it suds up a lot more and is not as harsh on my sealants.
