The purpose of this thread is for people to post readings, helps, and videos on how a company can help with Marketing. So if you have something that will benefit others post.



I've been spending some time reading about marketing. I thought I would just create a posting with some of the readings, mainly online stuff.

One thing I've really pushed over the last year is social networking for advertising. I held off on facebook, myspace and twitter for a long time but it's an excellent source for potential clients and to keep your current clients in the loop. and best of all it's free.
 
I'm looking into creating a blog, which will be sent out to clients I now have. Part of my business plan is client education, if I educated them they will in turn do the same for others----helping me market.

Yeah, blogs are good too if you keep them updated. Getting emails and doing an email blast every month or so works good too.

+1, I use Facebook for my business. Actually, I incent people to become fans on my FB page by offering them a discount coupon if they become fans. I use it to post pictures (so it serves as my web site's "photo gallery" as well), give updates on specials or stuff going on, and I can send group messages if I want to do some targeted advertising to previous clients.
 
Inbound rather than outbound marketing appears to be the future. Inbound uses blogs and social media to drive traffic to your website and customers to you. Outbound is the traditional way, using filers, direct mail, email blasts etc. to fish for customers.
 
I agree brad! Some markets are quicker to this point, mine is not, but getting there.

I know what you mean Greg!



This is an awesome idea for a thread though as well. I think we're going to be able to learn a TON from this information.
