FWIW, It has already been a successful season for me. Bob Knight is not in the tournament anymore.
Now if they could just get him and Billy Packer out of college basketball, the game would be, IMO, much better off.

.. Beating down on the ACC :( Tonight was disappointing with all the teams playing badly. I'll still root for UNC!

I still think the ACC has to be the most competitive conference.

I agree with you on the Big TEN. Always competitive! Always tough!

I wonder why Bobby Knight is so hated? As far as a student of the game he has few peers. Qualified leader. Developer of men. Proven track record as a coach.

I admit that his acerbic attitude and sardonic wit tend to be off putting. Yet his results speak volumes as to his abilities.

If I had a son entering into the college basketball ranks in the next year, there are but a few that I would put ahead of Bobby Knight, as far as where I would want my kid to be.

Now Billy Packer...his enthusiasm is as completely reprehensible as it is totally honest. Like him or love him...he is knowledgeable.

You are right. This is a good thread. Enjoy the posts. If this was hijacking the thread I most certainly apologize(sp). Just thought it was filling time before the next few games.

I don't get to watch the games much. To much competion in the house for the TV. But I do follow the box scores and articles throughout the web. Also listen to games on the radio when I am detailing. This last week was a good week as far as listening and detailing were concerned.

There wasn't anything wrong with your post. The fault was mine for getting off track in an area that could stir up quite a bit of debate.

The two games today were outstanding. Both winning teams were down by a lot and came back to win after overtime. I was a little upset that WV lost, but that's the game.

FWIW, both the Men's NIT, the Women's NCAA, and the women's NIT tournaments are also on right now. There's some pretty good basketball going on there, too.

There have been several tournament's where I remember an outstanding game. The UNLV vs Loyolla Marimont game is one of them, 232 total points for a 40 minute game was outstanding and I still remember it well. We can't forget the Duke vs. Kentucky game and the Christan Laetner shot. Not to forget the NCS vs. Gerogetown game. This years tournametnt is by far, the best tournament that I can think of, overall. I have kinda picked on the ACC, but they have dominated for so long, let the rest of us bask in the sun for a while. It's all in fun!
