As I watched in horror over the last year, the fast movement of detailers willing to do and say ANYTHING to get over and have no shame doing it. As the coating hype has hit a apex today with the "Money grabs of money grabs" I sit here in disgust with many who "Lie it up" with glee and brag about fleecing customers(Posting where they think I will not see it but do………….I always see it).


 


Many talk so much stuff as they know I have made a serious choice to follow Jesus Christ, of course even some once close to me were offended over this and will have to live with the choice of not having the balls to tell me this in person or over the phone but one is never quite sure if they will encounter me in person. I digress……….. as mentioned I have been a good boy on the forums, holding my tongue as there have been many opportunities to blow some of you up for misdeeds i.e.: charging top dollar for jobs and short sheeting the quality, bragging about cars coming or that they have which belong to someone else………. flexing on instagram pics while on a steroid cycle and then watching the same guy(s) shrink down like a balloon losing air ……...


 


This sounds judgmental, and I will get the "Hypocrite" thing as always…………… I don't care, my trade has been hijacked by guys once they realize how hard high level correction is go and push the easy button and justify labor rates higher than Ferrari dealership hourly rates …………with a straight face to boot. I have been around a longtime and in my poverty(By some definitions) I will look to God and keep my integrity fast which does not make me better as I AM saved by grace but makes me have a deliberate choice to do the right thing when nobody is looking because someone really is(Men will account for every idle word).


 


In closing, anyone who wants to discuss this with me who feels differently look me up………….I am easy to find.


 


 
 
A lot of "industry leaders" have sold their souls to the almighty dollar. They pitch whatever benefits them, with morals and ethics in the back seat. Stay true to your faith Bob. Those that "get it" realize that your reward awaits you, and these other guys will get theirs in due time....
 
Amen Bob, you have and remain to be one of the guys that I really look up to in the industry.  I definitely admire the way you operate the standards to which you hold true.
 
Bob, I am a big fan of your work. But didn't Jesus say to "love" and to "not judge"?


 


And who are these people you speak of? How come you never name names, only accuse?

<span style="font-size:14px;">I think there are a fair number of people who believe they're getting good results - but are really just fill and glazing - and some who think the methods they use are the fastest and most effective - even though they never use a rotary polisher.  <span style="font-size:14px;">  From here, it looks like most of this is market driven and understandable.  If I were a manufacturer, I'd much rather sell products and machines that fill and glaze, because handing people high speed polishers and real cutters means a lot of people are going to be calling up complaining my products and techniques are faulty because they damaged their cars.  From my point of view, that would be like saying a car is defective because the driver put it in the ditch but why have that conversation if you can make a ton of money without having too?  


 


You really can't blame people for believing in the things they've been told/sold.  A few years ago, a psychologist decided to study people who believed they'd been abducted by space aliens to see what in their psychological makeup made them susceptible to that delusion.  After spending a few years listening to those people, being in that group, hearing the stories over and over, the psychologist concluded that the reason they believed they'd been abducted was - they'd been abducted.  


 


At the end of the day, scientific method, A-B comparisons describe reality for me but belief is belief.

I will answer Thomas specifically on this post and why. As for scripture where folks like to point out Jesus said not to judge ………..they only read that part and not the rest where he goes into detail where by the same judgement you will be judged(Basically saying have your own house in order before confronting them) also to get the "Beam" out of your eye before removing the splinter out of someone else's eye(Another admonishment to not be a hypocrite and be a do as I say not as I do person.


 


False judgement is wrong, condoning rampant misdeeds is also wrong and Jesus was angry and confronted the money changers in the temple and turned over tables and yelling "It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves" Matt 21:12.


 


He had the authority to judge, I probably do not or should not…………….. however I will admit that watching things unfold in the trade I have worked in for a longtime that affects EVERYONE causes me angst as I cannot fathom pulling scandalous deeds on clients or fellow detailers I know……….. just does not enter my mind do do dirt or plan it.


 


Thomas Paul the apostle wrote that those who do wrong are to be marked, and speak with that person……..then if it continues you bring two people and bring it up again………….if the conduct still continues you separate from that person but pray for them.


 


The reason I say certain guys are doing XYZ is the hope that they will see it and KNOW in the past I have named names(Gloss-it/Todd C etc……) and change course, almost nobody will confront those who everybody knows is pulling stuff(Although many either look the other way, or are clueless) and MANY guys in the past and yesterday applaud that someone will speak up for truth and not go along to get along.


 


Profit is not bad, in fact I am at the highest in price point for the kind of work I do mostly(Except for the practice of charging correction prices and delivering far short of that) where some laud this as "Good business" or "Marketing" most define this truthfully as lying………….end stop. This will make many groan …………..but America(The world in general as well) is in moral free fall with the "Relative truth" mindset and "Do what you want if it feels good".


 


The love of money is the root of evil not the money itself…………….wealthy people with God in their lives effect for the good the tremendous resources to help many, and no matter how "ballin" one thinks they are God said "All the gold is mine, all the Silver is mine" which means he runs it all whether you acknowledge this or not(I finally did and it was a good thing believe it).


 


Do I get testy……..yes, do I have a temper……….mea culpa. I am not making excuses here as the bible says to hold your  tongue and a gentle answer is better than fine gold so it is a area where my "Righteous indignation" get's in the way. What I will not apologize for is conviction of doing what is right……………God declares what is right as he has spoken it, and will bring it to fruition and that's that.


 


Guys get offended because they know I have their number and see things clearly, some do not have the option I do to be more forceful if needed when a confrontation is eminent  but my disdain for bully's and liars, cheaters etc…………… is razor sharp. There a brief explanation of why I say what I do sometimes……………… below is a list of things that are prevalent in our industry presently which gets me going good when I see it.


 


1. Shoddy work(Not every job has to be 100 hour perfection jobs I get this, but even if the job is a quicky for whatever reason give the client value not perceived value).


2. Stealing knowledge others have imparted without giving credit to those it should go to(this includes Kopy kat failness as well)


3. Doctoring photos of work to impart results far better than reality


4. Doing work for the cheapness while bragging you are "Killin it"………if you are killin it that is plain to see


5. Blatant homer for products and /or people ………. the latest Coating debate issue is a clear example of this(I know I was a Gloss-it guy so don't go there…………when I saw the issues what did I do? I changed course with the quickness)


6. FB or instagram boasting and / or embellishment 


7. Bogus completion times for jobs i.e.: coating correction/film on a car with defects in one day(even with a crew there is no way the work will pass scrutiny of my eye and "Light of truth" and I can work fast if needed and have)


8. My personal pet peave……….. charging more than a exotic dealership for mechanical work hourly…………do I have to really spell this out to define the shadiness of this practice(Coming up with ways to fleece the client and then brag about this as it is something to be proud as you are a H.U.S.T.L.E.R hustlahhhh no this makes you a greasy piece of poop).


 


There are more examples but I have a car to finish, most will say F- Him…………… to that I say I care not, others will say this is the definition of integrity and what not to do. Ill gotten gains never last………….you will give a accounting one day.
 
Bob, your no nonsense top notch hard work speaks for itself and you shouldnt have anything to worry about. Whether it pertains to this situation or not I dont know, keep doing what you do best buddy. Hope all is well with you and the family...

My head is spinning, trying to understand some of what you have wrote.No problem. 


 


1- what ever one believes is the truth for that person. (that is what I believe) I don't care what people believe in. However what you describe to be god (with all his judgement and stuff) could never fly with me. You are describing men. Men = ego. God is LOVE and LOVE is the absence of judgement. For you to act like god and judge others, I don't think that it is your job, because I am sure that there are lots of things you are not doing correctly. That includes judging others. If you are really into Jesus, it would be nice to see you provide compassion, understanding, and love towards those that you judge. I actually get a kick out of reading your ranting posts, but at the same time it makes me question why you do what you do. I have to assume that you have a life, I think I am correct about you being married and have a lovely child? So why does Bob put so much negative energy into things Bob can't change?
 
Thomas you are missing a important point, God is love and acceptance of anyone(He is no respecter of persons) but he is a Holy God thus sin is a problem. Yes I already pointed out I have sin in my life as does everyone(All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God).


 


It is not negativity to point out when things are wrong, I wish it was different but it is not and I will not condone bad deeds period. The problem with this situation is summed up in your "Relative truth" statement, there is no you have your truth and I have mine there is only truth so one of us right. Many gloss over the fact that there is a right way to do things and when someone (Me) points this out guys get offended as it cuts to the bone their conduct and you cannot explain away bad deeds because I do not live a perfect life.


 


The question you have to ask yourself Thomas is why does the things I rant about not bother you?. The reason there are so many problems many times is the condoning of those problems and people are afraid to speak up..................I do not suffer from that fear(Good or bad depending on your perspective) it is a old game when someone who is living for God speaks up about things that are wrong and the offended parties always go to the "Well you say you are a Christian but look at what you do" which does not change what the original issues were.


 


I am working on my issues before God, but I will not shrink away from declaring what is right.
 
Why doesn't t your rants bother me? Ahhhh... Lets see: There are wars around the world, women are being raped daily, priests are raping innocent children etc... those I find bothersome - Todd C. making a shitload of $$$ - I am happy for him. The gloss it guy may have a personality disorder, so his case is hopeless.. What else? Because I much rather put my positive energy into my wife than worry about what another detailer is doing. But that is just me. I still stand by that "IF" there was a god, it is an unconditional loving god, not a man made up ego maniac, who created me and in the end will make me and most other humans suffer for ever. That to me is evil.
 
What others do in the business and how they make their money have NO effect on what I do on a daily basis. I wouldn't even know about others and their practices if I didn't log in here and just happened to scroll down. I've had the best year of my life financially and personally and I believe this has came from being off these forums. All they do is stir up crap and keep others down. They were intended to help but just like other social media, they can become gossiping tools and hurt others.


 


Also...would Jesus really really care about this and post it in a forum? LOL! NO! How about lets Him handle this and go back to work and do what we do best....detail...satisfy our clients...and provide for our families.

This is good………..now there is dialog with a starting point. I brought up "detailer things" as this is a forum concerning detailing however I can go into current events easily.


 


As for making "S**tloads of money", I already acknowledged profit is not a problem but if you are deceptive to in order to net those results that is a clear issue you should care about Thomas as it is wrong. 


 


Rich @ GI well that is established so no expounding for that subject(I pray for him………….he would be shocked for that, I pray for all who I dislike as it is biblical to do so and sometimes I hit my knees with the slowness for those people just being honest).


 


As for IF God exists, I have experiences Thomas that you would never want as God is loving and patient but he is Holy and I was given a clear mandate what would happen to me and believe me you do not god's ire directed at you ever as your soul is serious business.


 


God's love is unconditional Thomas and it is your choice(Freewill) to accept that grace which was purchased at a high cost. All you have to do is believe sincerely and go from there where it cost God his only son to atone for your and my sin sounds a little one sided(Understatement) so in reality he doesn't send you to hell you do.


 


As for manmade ego, God's attributes are wonderful and anti-ego as the original sin was pride which he hates. I believed all my life Thomas from as early as a small boy but then lived a life like everybody else…………..cursing, and all manner of stuff I have made a 180 on(Repentance) and am working on hard to change.


 


I will say this, many are convinced God does not exist……………..if they and you are right when you die(And you will) we all become nothing again, however if God's word is right………….what's your back up plan?………eternity is not lot's of time it is outside of time so it behooves you to investigate throughly before making a eternal decision.
 
I never said I didn't believe in a creator, in fact I was very close to becoming a catholic priest While in high school


 


PS: I also have had experiences that YOU may not believe if I told you.


 


Anyway, how is Todd deceptive?
 
If every two out of three people in the world took the time to "check" themselves there would be no problems. Too many go with the flow and turn a blind eye.
