Makita 9227c vs Flex?

Prices are around the same range. I'm looking for something more aggressive than my UDM. I am considering going the Rotary route, never done it before, but not afraid to learn.
 
did you keep your PC around or are you strictly using the Makita? I thought about keeping the UDM around for waxes and sealants, but I could definitely use the extra money if the Makita could do it all.
 
I would suggest getting the rotary and learning, its a very easy to use machine when used correctly. I would probably keep the UDM around for a little while until you get the hang of the rotary.
 
I still have and occassionally use my PC. It's good to keep it around, like you said, not just for waxing and sealing, but on certain combos of paints/polishes where you absolutely can't finish hologram free with a rotary, the PC can step in and do the job. I also use my PC with the carpet/upholstery brush attachments for mild scrubbing.

Huh? The Flex is $270 and the Makita is $180, it can even be had for less than that.



I say you are better off with a rotary.
 
I have both machines and I can say that you should skip the Flex and go straight to the makita ! The Flex is nice but its no match for the correction power of a high speed buffer. Keep your UDM for finishing work and use the makita for correction:2thumbs:

I think he is referring to the FLEX 3403 ROTARY, not the 3401.
