Makita 9227C or Flex Rotary?

Curious about those who have used both. I'd like to know pros and cons of either. I'm looking at purchasing a new rotary to replace my old Dewalt.

I have not used the Flex, but the Makita is a very good rotary, although I believe it is 6.6lbs vs. the Flex's 4 something. However, I wouldn't trust the Flex for reliability since the Flex 3401 is having so many problems. Haven't really checked into the Flex rotary though.

SupeBee and I did a car together. I had the Makita he was using the Flex. While the flex is lighter, the noise was the larger difference. I would take the few small pounds over the noise any day, plus it builds strong muscles...........

the makita is a workhorse and just keeps going.

Cheers,

GREG

Didn't SB say that part of that was a lubrication issue? That it got quieter and ran cooler once he lubed the gears? How about we all chip in and send a 5lb pail of grease to the Flex factory?
