Making The Big Step

Am ready to order a Makita rotary. Have been happy with my Flex da machine, but I'm feeling that it is time to "move up".

I want to get some feed back prior to placing my order for "supplies".

I already have most of the Menzerna products, along with Ultrafina SE, and M80 and M83. I will be adding 1Z Pasta Intensive and 1Z High Gloss to that. My foam pads are LC CCS white and orange, along with some blue and black finishing pads (all 6"). Will be adding PFW pads there also.

Was thinking about the 3M Ultrafina (blue) as well.

Am I missing anything?

The cars that I work on usually don't need major correction....they mostly have wash induced marring.

Thanks for any suggestions!

No doubt you will love a rotary. I bought a Makita 9227 a few months ago and I love it. Personally I use nothing but 6.5" and 3.5" purple foamed wool, and 6.5" and 4" CCS pads in orange, white, and blue. For hard clears I have found that PFW combined with Meguiar's #105 is a magical combination with a rotary.
