Making paint darker. How?

My wife has a black 307 and my sister in law has a silver one, so I know what you mean. I think my best chance at getting a good match would be to paint the whole car again. I wonder if Vauxhall supply paint though....



TBH, from factory the colour match wasn't great, but at least the metallic flake and depth were the same. Not only is the colour bad, but the look is different. The repainted bumper looks like the metallic is flatter and lifeless.
 
Mike , just give it some time to lighten up without UV protective sealant/wax . Then check the orange peel vs. other panels and see if some wetsanding would help the texture match better .

You are right that clear will darken the paint also , so if it would be possible to knock it down slightly and then compound and polish out , that would also lighten the color - although not much .
 
Mike. All I can suggest is that you get it repainted at a different bodyshop. Tell them your concerns over the colour match. Then hope for the best! I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can personally do to make the situation any better.
