Making carpet softer?

Hi guys,

Any tips on making my black carpet softer? My friend has a simiar 3-series that he never vacuums, and the carpet it tons softer than mine! (And I obviously vacuum frequently!)



I had Stanley Steemer clean the carpet recently, after my little Bissell machine crapped out. I guess they use a steamer/extractor with some soft of emulsifier.?.?
