I like cheese.
I have a charcoal grey 94 Volvo 850 sedan. Not much shine on the car except the clear coat (thx to previous owner). I have searched these forums, and read the articles by David until I can barelly see  straight to type this.

? ? ? ?

Are these products in a proper order of application

? ? ? ?

Pinnacle Clay Bar

Meguiars #9

S100 SEPC

AIO

Klasse SG

S100

Appreciate anyone who stops me from messn' up!

Stu.

pssstue- Welcome to Autopia. You must've done your research well because yep, you've got the sequence right (and that's a good choice of products for your gray 850). You won't be messing up with that plan :up

Just add the follow, don't hurry up using the s100. Put 2 x AIO, and at least 2 x SG (or Platinum UPP :bounce ). Only after you may choose to use or not the S100.

I've found that in my dark green Volvo, 2 coats of UPP over AIO looks more shine, more sparkling then with the P21s (=S100?) as a toper.

You've got the order right, but if the paint's condition is really bad and swirled, you may need something more aggresive than #9. Don't get discouraged if the #9 doesn't get all the swirls out, move to something like DACP.

Are you doing this by hand or PC?

Michael

Welcome!

It's great to have people who take the time to read through the forums before asking questions :xyxthumbs Your order sounds pretty good. The only thing I would add is a wash before you clay, I'm sure you knew this, but just making sure.

Oh yeah, pictures of the finished product would be nice! Good detailing to you!

I was planning on getting some good wash concentrate. Been using TW somethingerather. I am sure there is better.

My paint isn't really too badly swirled but def. has minor scratches, and a chip or two. Just found a thread discussing compound abrassive levels and that should help out quite a bit. BTW: What the is DACP?! Up to 3 coats of SG right? (looking into UPP now) I was going to go with the S100 as an extra layer of protection as I park in a carport off of a gravel drive-thru. Place gets dusty (i.e. decided against Z)

All elbow grease here, no PC. Any tips (on applicators too) for the products I will be using here? Which are finicky? Any product labeling completely misleading? What sites have nice prices, I saw ******** and of course supplier direct.

This will be the first time I have cared for any of my autos paint jobs and I really appreciate all the replies and the fact that this forum exists. This ish is great! Hey sorry about the bombardment of questions, it's the only way to get good answers :nixweiss later -Stu.

i too,,, like prevous post am jumping into the fine car detailing world.. please advise me if i have the right formula... 1st good wash pinnacle,,, then clay... 2 --3m perect swirl dark paints,,, 3- p21s cleansing gloss lotion.. --4 followed by ps21s paste wax.... can this all be done by hand? will the machine give me better results ? my last question is what is the s100, is that different from what i bought.. thanks to all

Swirl remover will be a pain in the *** by hand, but its doable.

Rest are fine.

Difference between P21S and S100 is the price ;)

If you look at the product and the jars they look identical.

Were doing an experiment this weekend with P21S and S100 to hopefully prove theyre the same thing.

thanks smoker... do i need to do the 3m swirl as one of the steps.. i have a old orbital machine maybe i will try it with the 3m swirl remover..
