Maintaining with Aquawax and Spray and Gloss

I have found a nice paint maintenance regimen that keeps my red VW GTI looking better than new. I have been topping my weekly wash with an LSP of either Poorboys Spray and Gloss or Duragloss Aquawax. Every other week or so it gets the AW. The car really looks great and I have been getting a lot of comments like-----"It's the brightest red I have ever seen".

My original process when the car was new (April 2006) was:

Wash PB SSS

Clay-Meg's

PB PWC Blue

PB EX x2

PB Natty's Blue x2

DG Aquawax-every other week, alternating with PB S&G

Black trim-303

Wheels-homemade mix of Klasse AIO and SG w/water

Glass-ext-AW, int-Stoners

Leather-Mother's Reflections

Int trim-PB Natural Look or 303

I really like the ease of maintenance with the AW. Here's a few pics:

Yeah since I started using a spray wax after every wash I find my ride looking better, longer, and with less effort devoting a whole day to PC useage. Also kinda gives me piece of mind when it rains and stops after 5 mins and there is spots all over my ride that I don't have to be so OCD to stop what I'm doing and go wash it, I'm like eh I'll get to it this weekend.

agreed. since i haven't waxed in a while, a spray wax gives enough protection till the next wash and looks like you've spent hours on it...

I am tempted to forego my usual fall polishing and just keep layering before winter. I can't really tell what is left from the PB EX sealant application, so I don't know how much protection I'll have for winter, other than the tight beading I have right now.

Suggestions anyone? Should I strip and polish/seal before winter or keep up my current regimen? I live in the mid-Atlantic away from the coast.

just lay down your EX over what's already on the paint. No need to start over.

Thanks----that's great to know, and you just saved me hours of work~! Where do I send the check? :hifive:

So there's no bonding issues with EX over AW?
