Magic towel + water = lint. Normal?

I bought some Magic Towels from CMA in Oct 2001. I think they're great for DQing but I'm puzzled by those who use the towel to dry their car after washing. It doesn't work for me. All I get is lint, lint, lint. Only after the surface is completely dry can I use the towel for buffing and if any water emerges from a crevice it's lint time all over again. Is it possible I got a bad batch?

Around the time it seems you got yours there was a quality issue with many vendors having linting problems...

Do a quick search I think you will see if it from the time you got yours...

That has been my complaint with the Magic Towels and the Viper Towels (blue and green), thay all lint bad and yes, I washed them many times. Some are from the summer of 2001, the latest Viper's are 2 weeks old. The ONLY non linting MF's I have found are neatitems and yosteve's- 'nuff said.:up

as far as I know, CMA no longer carries the linty brand of towels.

It is definatly not normal to have a lot of lint on a quality microfiber towel.

Agreed. It's certainy not a good thing if your towel lints quite a bit. You may want to wash it 2 or 3 times before you use it on your car again. If you've already washed it a few times and it still lints quite a bit, then I feel for you buddy. Laters

Yes, I see in looking at the old threads that there were many with linting complaints. Has anyone tried getting CMA to exchange the bad towels for new ones?
