Made my products order for the rotary

My electronic speed controlled rotary from HF (#90820) arrived last week. It is definitely smaller/lighter than the old $25 rotary I had from them. I'm excited to use it :)

The Edge 2000 green and blue waffle pads arrived as well.

I was intending to go over my wife's car with same CG AIO this weekend to determine whether or not I wanted to go further and actually correct the very minor swirling present.

After some talking last night, we're actually starting to seriously think about selling her 2000 Sentra SE (black) and pick up a recent Ford Freestar minivan. Now that we have two kids, we have a hard time fitting all of us + stroller + groceries in the car at the same time :)

So.. with the prospect of selling the car on the horizon, I know that minimizing the existing swirls is no longer the goal. The goal is jaw dropping (and price boosting) beauty ;)

To that end, I did a bunch of searching and have placed the following order from TOL:

32oz Hi-Temp Extreme Cut

32oz Optimum Polish

16oz FPII

303 Spot remover and fabric guard

The abrasives thread doesn't list optimum polish, but I'm assuming it is a reasonable match for my green waffle pad. I'm hoping that will be sufficient to adios the swirls, but if not I would like to steal Sean's Extreme Cut / Optimum Polish secret recipe. I assume this is more aggressive than you should ideally use with a green waffle though, correct? What are the downsides of a pad that is not as aggressive as the product you are using? Is it just slower going, or inferior results?

Since I have read that Optimum will let me work essentially as long as I want to, I guess I just need to make maybe 3 passes and then buff off a small section to check the progress?

After the swirls are taken care of I'll make a pass with FPII on the blue waffle, followed by blue application of AIO (other side of the pad, or after washing) and removal by hand. If my arms still work at that point, I may put on a coat of CG butter wax as well. :)

I have some of that grape scented Meguiar's tire gel so I'll probably throw that on the tires and some AIO on the wheels.

I'm afraid after all of the work I'll want to keep the car :)

Once all that is taken care of, I'll wash/rinse/repeat on my '04 WRX (black). That's the part I'm *really* looking forward to. :D
