Made my own wax

I'm scraping all of my Zymol Royale Glaze out of it's crystal container so I can have it refilled with SneekWax. I think you are almost there, you just need some fancy ingredients. Like ear wax from butterfly's, and wax from dragon fly wings.

Bam looks like new again

:D yes no alcohol was used, I just put the car over the candle and left it there.

SneekWax is that good. I am actually quite happy with how this turned out.

:D it does have rare ingredients it has #16 and it has Perfecar #33.

I am just surprised that the paint wasn't dramatically darkened. Betawax #33 alters the colour quite a bit on its own. Gold Class does this too, but slightly less.

see!

i tried this out on my sisters black TL and it looks okay, I will try and get some pics tomorrow. It doesn't have that really synthetic look and shine that I like :(. But i guess none of the products I put in had that either.

can you microwave waxes together, to melt them?

I would like to blend S100 & #16 together....
I tried to melt some 476 in a microwave but I didn't like how it was going..... it was taking a lot longer than I thought. I finally just put the glass measuring cup into a pot of boiling water.

I now have a cheap metal strainer that fits into the pot of water and the measuring cup sits in that....... my idea of a cheap homemade double boiler.

FYI (if you didn't know already), P21S and #16 was what started the wax melting movement a couple of years back:

would this be because of the low water content inside wax?
I'm not sure if it was because of that or not. Part way into the process, since it wasn't melting like I thought it might, I just switched over to the boiling water. I'm also thinking that the boiling water method might be easier on the wax than a microwave, but I have no facts to back that up.

Maybe a higher power microwave than I was using would work better :nixweiss

I'm not sure if this is correct, but I thought microwaves worked by causing water molecules to vibrate.

That's what I've always heard..but I suppose there's always a few H2O molecules around..and I'd doubt that it causes only H2O to vibrate

We can always go old school and put it in metal can and use some wire to tie it down to the manifold for about 5 miles

but when the H2O vibrates, it bumps into many other particles, causing them to vibrate as well. I guess you could test this by microwaving a cup of oil. :nerd:
