M105 vs M205...same technique??

I think that I pretty much have the technique down for using the M105. My question is with the M205 is the technique the same?

I did not know if you used lighter pressure, made less/more passes, etc since it is a finer polish.

Right off the top of my head, the biggest diff for me is that M205 has an incredibly long work time compared to M105. Don't let that sucker you into not cleaning the pads often enough, even with the reduced cut you oughta clean/reprime/etc. them now and then.

As for pressure, I sometimes use *more* with M205 because of the reduced cut. But I kinda push the envelope with M205 upon occasions, using it with orange (and esp. the orange Griot's pad) to get some actual correction out if it (even if it *is* a "finishing polish").

The number of passes will depend on what you're trying to correct *MUCH* more than it will on the work time of the product. Prime the pads properly and I bet you'll find M205 a lot easier to get the hang of than M105 was.

Prime the pads???? Do you mean by getting the pad a bit damp? I know some companies have a speical spray you are supposed to put on the pad before working it. Is this what you are referring to?

I have already ordered everything and am going to detail tomorrow morning so I cannot order anything speical, but if this is something I can pick up at my local Advanced Auto Parts store... let me know!

The bottle says to spritz with final inspection, but I normally apply a small bead aroun the pad and massage it in until I can hardly see it. Then proceed to get my shine on :)
