Why's that? I think Garry is cool, nice shop, funny guy and informative. Might not use what I do but who cares.

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to talk with Kevin. Love chatting with him on FB for an hour or so every so often, even when it's 3am in the morning his end most often. he still takes time to talk. Gave him a big thank you message by phone at christmas time as I think he deserves even more praise than he gets. Very unique brain that man has.



A greater contributor to the industry there is not. Plenty know alot about paint perfecting but very few are willing to share it with anyone let alone the masses

if it wasnt for him, I'd still be using 3mm and 5mm orbit throw RO's and DA's. Now using 6.25mm, 8, 10, 12, 15,19 and soon 21mm and the next machine that should be coming out at the end of the year, the next big game changer.



An industry shake up is just getting started fella's, this is just the beginning.



As for M100 -I wonder what it costs Meg's to make 32 oz of the stuff as $25 bucks to buy it is so cheap. My stuff costs more than that to make.
 
Is there big difference between m100 and m101 in terms of cutting? My main compound is Nanolex Heavy Cut which is superiour compared s3 xxl. However m101 with mf pad cuts little more and faster especially if you use water to to do couple more passes. But m101 smells bad and is thick studf and i have read that m100 is much more nicer to use, but does it lack behind m101 in cutting power? If so, then ill contiune to use m101 as my heavy weapon. And i use Rupes machines and mostlt mf pads for compounding.

M101 has slightly more cut than M100.

Another Compound Question (M100 vs M101)

Of course for best results, proper priming of the DA Microfiber Cutting Discs are vital as well as frequent cleaning of the DA Microfiber Cutting Discs (with ideally compressed air or a microfiber towel, some use water in a bucket to clean the discs,) but again the above technique is OK by Meguiar`s if the situation calls for it, like a very short amount of allotted time.

Again we think our DA Microfiber Correction System will deliver great results & efficiency for your situation, also with the fact that it is easy to train technicians how to use, but as you have found M100 Pro Speed Compound is a great for times when more cut is needed, like very hard paint or isolated deeper scratches.

If you haven`t already, we would also consider looking into our S6F3000 Professional Unigrit 3000 Foam Finishing Disc, paired with our S6FI Unigrit 6 Inch Foam Interface Pad. You can buzz through Random Isolated Deep Scratches or an area on the vehicle with a lot of heavy defects with a couple spritzes of water and a couple passes, and our D300 DA Microfiber Correction Compound along with DA Microfiber Cutting Disc typically pulls the sanding marks out easily. That is interesting. I have read few instances where M100 outcut M101. However atleast on my BMW test hood and 2011 Audi A4 i did recently, M101 was much much better.
 
Just got done playing with new Flex 3401, 5.5" LC Force Hybrid Gray Heavy Cutting Pad, M101 on a 2006 Ford E-250 Fleet Service Van, 151K miles. 4 3/8 Flex Backing Plate.

Obviously not perfection but a fleet vehicle that has likely been run through a tunnel was twice a year for the past 10+ years, rode hard and put away wet. Didn`t bother to refine w/ a follow up polish/2nd step as, well...at the end of the day while you can actually `polish a turd` it`s still a turd, just a lot shinier. Between the deep scratches from Techs throwing tool bags on the hood and all manner of abuses (what appears to possibly be solvent pop among others), for the time involved and the results. definitely a nice combo for quick fleet work. For comparisons sake, did the hood of a similarly abused van using GG6, D300 w/ microfiber cutting disc and it took over twice as long, 6-8 passes slowwwwww passes. Obviously Flex vs. GG is no real comparison but it`s all I had to contrast with at the time.

I`m thinking I like the M101/Force Hybrid/Flex combo. Since this was not really a `vehicle of consequence` I started out heavy, next time maybe I`ll go with Orange pad and M101 and see how it plays. Have about 20 other Fleet Vehicles to play with, in a variety of conditions. Think next I`ll find an equally beat van and try Rupes LHR15 Mk II w/ Rupes Blue Course pad on one part, the Rupes LHR15 Mk II w/ Griots Fast Correcting Creme on Griots Garage BOSS Fast Correcting Foam Pad on the second and the `ol FLEX/ForceHybrid Gray/M101 on the third.

I had used M101 w/ the GG6 and LC Flat yellow cutting pad in past but it was less effective than the D300/Cutting disk combo but the Flex/M101 pairing beats that in about half the time/effort. FWIW, I did try M105 for the first time during this project, after one section that turned into glue, threw it in the trash. Read all the buffdaddy and other recommendations on how to use but don`t think it`s worth all the trouble when other options are just `load up and go`. I primed the pad then when with about 3 pea sized drops per section and some of my sections `grew` a bit but didn`t really seem to phase the M101. Did notice that overuse of the M101 did cake the pad which was cleaned on the fly using the orange LC pad brush. I used the same 3 pads for the entire thing, broken down over 4 days:

Day 1: Hood and Front Fenders/front Doors
Day 2: left hand side of truck
Day 3: right hand side of truck
Day 4: back of truck

As i was running out of days and was doing this after a 6am to 3pm workday each day, I hadda break it up in this manner. Didn`t get to roof of truck as Van needed to be pout back into service today. Besides, everybody who works here is less than 6ft tall so no one will ever see it!

After each day used, PB Tornado Pad cleaner sprayed liberally on pad, took `em home and washed in washing machine, Heavy Cycle, Hot Water, 3D/HD Towel Kleen. While the backside/velcro still looks like new, the face of the pads are looking a little `used` and just a bit `furry`, but really not that bad. Thinking that may be more due to `aggressive` use of pad brush when cleaning on fly trying to dig out caked up M101 when I over used it. I was also jamming those pads in all manner of places, over black rubber vinyl pieces as I enjoyed the Flex forced rotation.

Back on topic, Now that I have FLEX, will always have M101 around. Very little dusting, easy removal and very effective. Will have to try on Rupes too.

Nice work and interested to see how it goes. Could you test Zephir vs GG Fast Correcting Cream vs M101 with the same pad so that the results are most compareable. Thanks.

Got any suggestions as to pad and machine you want me to try with? May be a while, winter has returned to Cleveland and once outside temps drop below 30 for extended time, not economical to heat warehouse to 55-60 degrees just so I can play (so I`m guessing the guy who pays the bills around here would say; some people just don`t understand the importance to this kinda stuff...expense be damned!)

I have a set of Rupes machines so please use Rupes 15 MK II. Do you have microfiber pads? Those i use mostly for correcting, but i guess Boss FC foam would be good test equipment.

Got some Megs Microfiber cutting discs, Rupes Microfiber cutting and a few LC microfiber cutting. Have yet to use the Rupes or LC microfibres.
