Lunch/dinner thread.

Roasted yellow and green squash with avocado and roasted kale and some shrimp

The tiny tacos are not Accumulator approved but I like `em.

It`s amazing how much freezing changes the taste of meat compared to fresh.
I thawed it for a day in fridge. Cooked it at room temp..it immediately started to have these bubbles in it.

And it was not flaky like the normal ahi, or not as flaky at least

That`s interesting and maybe its to do with how long our fish is frozen by the time we get it in the grocers or markets.

I thought all fish caught in the wild was pretty much frozen once its caught then thawed or kept on ice at the market or if being packaged kept frozen?

you have to look closely at the small print, previously frozen. Then the words fresh, had been kept on ice and/or refrigerated. Then of course there`s buying it still straight up frozen.

Something else to watch out for from seafood is the words farm raised. Then you get fish that was kept in cages in the ocean and fed corn. You always want wild caught.
Farm raised bivalves ar ok thought basically the same as wild because they are still fed naturally.

Yes. I dont do farm raised fish. Doc said stay away from that.

The frozen ahi I got was on a shelf in a pack. Prolly pretty old.

I presume the fresh stuff comes on ice or maybe even frozen initially.
