Lunch/dinner thread.

Brandt, looks good, but watch those tortillas. They tend to have a lot of shortening, or lard in them.

I believe those might be corn tortillas...
And yes, that stuff you mention in flour tortillas does contribute to their great flavor when made by the loving hands of your hispanic grandmother... :)

512Detail- I keep thinking how *GREAT* it is that you`ve found so many OK-to-eat foods that you like!

I believe those might be corn tortillas.... :)

IMO corn is the Devil, I`ll never eat it again in any form in this lifetime if I can avoid it. Nastily high-glycemic stuff with minimal nutritional value, just don`t see any reason to eat it.

Lack of crop rotation in the form of "corn every year" has even been turning some field mice cannibalistic!

OK, OK...

But what other food can you count the next day ?!?!?!?!?!?

Cooked fresh sockeye salmon with Cajon seasoning, and nice crispy skin. Cremini and white garlic mushrooms. Deboning the salmon was a pain, but well worth it in the end.

Brother Ronkh !
Glad to see you up and eating great food ! I will never find anything close to that awesome food you guys have, out here in the farmlands.. You Lucky !!! :)
Loved your ""count the next day" comment :)

When I was a little kid, my sister had an outside orange cat named Muffin..
Muffin never had the luxury of cat food, but then we didnt have the luxury of fancy-shmancy food either.. :)

Sometimes, I would ride my bike 4 miles to the golf course creek and catch a big sunfish/bass looking fish and bring it home to Muffin, who would promptly devour the entire fish in minutes.. I never even found the bones !!!
Muffin would get table scraps and would make them disappear faster than anyone..

One day Muffin ate a lot of corn..
The next day - well you know what came out of Muffin.... :)

I saw all that corn and it traumatized me for life... :)
To this day, I will not eat corn, but I DO like Candy Corn and PopCorn, but that`s the limit...

I trust that`s utterly facetious!

As the saying goes: Nature will castigate those who don`t masticate.

If something passes through so intact that you can ID it you`re simply not doing the "how humans eat food" thing right.

Heh heh, guess some things are simply beyond me :D

I`m sure glad you have a good appetite, and that you`re regaining weight, so I`ll spare you any more of my [crap].

I still make my own food. Cant really eat out due to absurd sodium levels in everything. The "heart healthy" menu selections usually have around 1k sodium!

Teriyaki chicken thighs and garlic seasoned baked kale (comes out crispy-yum)
