Polished out a heavily swirled and scratched Lightning on Sunday (sorry no before pix)
The owner and his son clayed the entire truck the day before, so I didn't have to do that myself. Started with Menzerna Power Gloss with LC cutting pad and Makita 9227 rotary (used 1Z Ultra and PC in the tight curves of the flare side). Followed by 1Z PP and LC polishing pad on the Makita (PC in the flares) and finished off with my favorite, Menzerna FP and a LC finishing pad Makita and PC. By the time the polsihing was done, the truck was in full sun, so raised the Easy Up and AIO'ed by hand. When finished that, applied first layer of SG. 11 hours total (I couldn't make a living doing this!)
All swirling gone, some scratches gone as well, but couldn't get all the deep ones. A couple of them went through to the primer.
Send the owner home with 2 baby food jars of SG and told him that was enough for 4 more SG layers. Told him how to wash to minimize swirl reappearance - time will tell...
