This is another thing I'm dealing with on the RX-7; some of my degreasing efforts caused collateral damage to desireable lube. I'm just regreasing things that look like they need it (moving, articulated joints, etc.) with the Super Impact Grease that came with my Griot's greasegun. I do plan to check my FSM to make sure I don't overlook something, I expect it'll show what should be lubed (if not I'll just use common sense and err on the side of over-lubing). If you don't already own one, a FSM is really worth having. They're often available used and have always been money well-spent for me.
