LSP's of the future?

David Fermani said:
It’s not marketed at all! It’s not even posted on their website. It’s for Professional Detailers that are fully insured. Not for every Tom, **** & Harry still living at their Mom & Dad’s house wanting to put some new LSP on their riced out Euro.

oh come on, forum hype is the best form of marketing and you know it.

i highly doubt ricers would be able to afford this coating though :D

You don’t remove Opti-Coat? You apply a thin, uniform film and leave it. There's no removal.

That is downright misleading. after the product has flashed the whole panel still needs to be buffed to remove excess otherwise when it cures within the hour there will be a permanent hazed look where excess is applied

Ut oh..this is going to get interesting...."Standing in this corner with 5,435 posts, David "The Italian Flag" Fermani....and standing in this corner with 22 posts, Sockster "The No Avatar" User" lol. Just kidding. I cannot comment either way, as I have never used this product.

haha i cant seem to help it. all these professional detailers that have a business relationships with Optimum like S****wax and stuff always jump at an opportunity to rave how good Optimum products are its ridiculous(almost like Zaino Zealots).

When you state your honest opinions about an Optimum product you get bashed.

Im not being biased-i probably have more products than a professional does. Therefore sometimes a critic must come and restore balance to the forums

You might be referring to the Japanese coatings? From the way you've described OC, I'm confused and question if you've really used it.

Not hatin here, its a good product though, nice and shiny

Do you apply Opti with foam appl. or by MF appl.?????

i'd recommend a foam applicator as an mf applicator will absorb too much product taking into the fact that this stuff costs a bomb

Why don't you think Optimum advertises this Coating? The hype OC gets on the internet is totally independent of what the manufacturer is doing to market their product. They aren’t focused on the enthusiast detailers that want to try out new products. Optimum probably doesn’t even want these people to contact them seeing that each one has to be qualified and possibly denied. Which could have a negative impact on their overall reputation via the same anti-hype propaganda that’s been started here? People get angered when they are told they aren’t qualified to buy something. It could lead to them boycotting the company’s other product out of spite.

What’s misleading about the truth? This isn't paint and there is no “flashing”. There's also no excess if you know what you’re doing. It takes a little practice to master an efficient technique though. I’ve never seen it haze either. It can if you apply an additional coat w/o scuffing the surface after it’s been fully cured. It’s common sense mixed with following the directions.

You act like OC is outrageously priced like some silly estate glaze. Its dirt cheap when you consider it protects your paint for years and years. OC is probably a drop on the bucket compared to others in your collection you’re bragging about.

It’s not exactly a Euro Ricer, but close:

I guess we’re all guilty of having business relationships with vendors we buy producsts from. We should all stay in our bubble and order products on-line instead. When a product is that good, you can’t help but make suggestions about it. That’s what forums are all about. It’s about sharing both positive and negative experiences. What gets me is when people take both ways out of their mouth and spread inaccuracies. I don’t bash a product unless I’ve used it. To go even a step further, when I use it properly in expectations of having optimum results.

WooooooooooooWW!!

did i hit a raw nerve?? Somehow me criticizing the product made things so emotional and personal for you.. poor thing:cool: you gotta learn how to chill dude.

so much does Optimum pay you tell me honestly!(add scarsm here):grinno:

You obviously don't know me. I enjoy debating interesting topics such as this. It's a shame you've taken offense to me questioning your intent. So much so that you attempt to slander me and my business credibility and avoid my prior response.

Optimum as well as all the other products I use pay me alot to use thier products actually. Especially Opti-Coat when it's a $500 minimum upsell.:xyxthumbs

I’ve never had a problem with applicators springing out of my hand. But maybe that’s why this product is only sold to experienced Pros.

Your attitude turns people off from trying or supporting Opti-Coat, or contacting a "PRO" to apply it.

And no, I'm not some **** living at home wanting to trick out my Ricer with tailpipe extensions.

Guess I'm in the bottom feeder crowd , you know, Collinite , etc., etc.. being my LSP of choice

Good God. With the "upgrade" of the site, did we all turn into 3 year olds?

I used to appreciate this forum for it's maturity. Now we bring spelling issues into a thread about paint coatings?

Fermani likes it.

Socks does not.

MDRX8 blows at spelling.

Now, has anybody tried the Gtechniq products yet?

Well...

All these 'coatings' still needs to be washed and cleaned every now and then..

So, what's the hype?

I'm on gzox hi-mohs coat and yet still need to do what i used to do that is.... wash and dry my cars weekly...

I have been using the PPS, or "5starshine" for over 7 years now, and it wears like a rock. But I have the last 4 years started to

use different coatings like Opti-Coat, Echeclon coatings, Sonax and Res Bona. All of them are good and all the cars in my family

is wearing them. Why? Beacuse they are easy to maintain(foam them with a alkalie and pressure washer), great durability(don't need to wax them all the time) and time

is money, so then it will be cheaper to use a coating.

On my own car I have opti coat and Echeclon FE1043, but it got bored and are now using Gtechniq C2 after almost every wash, just to have something to do...

The newest coating I have started to play with is Res Bona - Multi Permanent System(MPS) wich is a 2 component, who you mix and for best results you have to use a paint gun and apply it like a clear coat, but I used it for hand.

So far, I prefere Opti coat best.

How do you like the G' zox?

I have tried Gtechniq. Works very well. easy to apply C1 and maintain wil C2. Comes close to BFWD in looks.

I do agree with sockster that some products seem to get a crazy amount of hype, then slowly peter out. That said, I've used OC a couple times now, have no relationship with Optimum (bought it from Justin, paid full price :D), and so far it has performed well for me. I have not had a chance to test the long term durability (obv...), but application wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be and ease of cleaning after application is very promising.

sockster - I am curious how you find OC? I didn't see you mention how you liked it aside from its high price.

As an aside, I still haven't tried BFWD, sounds like I need to.
