LSP for black?

Trying to remember, what's the generally-accepted best LSP for black? Was it Souveran?

And what under it? EX-P? UPP?

You just have to go with what works for you. There are many products out there that are designed for black and other dark colors. I'm sure if you do a search you will find plenty of input on this subject.

I personally use PB's EX-P and Natty's Blue for my black A4. I've never had anything but compliments after this process.

Like everyone stated Prep is the key...but there are differences between LSP, I personally like LSP that darken black instead of ones that are more reflective.

For me Clearkote Carnauba Moose is my favorite for black:

Nothing like a black A4, I too have one, a B7 2.0.

I would go with anything really. I wouldnt go out and buy souveran just for it though. Many really like the looks of it, for the price you should be happy with it, but in my opinion, blue natty's paste looks just as good for a fraction of the cost. But yes anything will do.

I agree with the Natty's vs Souveran. I did a side-by-side between Souveran and regular Nattys at a PB meeting. No one could tell the difference between the two unless you have a very trained eye. The regular Nattys looks a bit more clear where Souveran looks a bit more softer.

For the money, go with Natty Blue! I've used EX-P under it when I had the Lexus SC430 and that combo looks fantastic!

Another Natty's user here. Under that I have EX.
Also if you are a fan of reflection I highly recommend QW+. I use it to give my Natty's a boost in between Details. The reflection I get from this blows me away.
I find the if my car reflects more it hides more of the little imperfections that I get in my paint from day-to-day stuff. Even when my car gets dirty its still shiny.

how many coats of ex do you do.

Jeff

Just one. I try to make sure when applying that I have every inch covered. Actually I applied it with my Orbital buffer which made it easier.

I like to do two coats of EX on my cars you can insure that its covered real even...that's if you have time...then a day later two coats of Nattys is what I go for....If you are really looking for a wet shine and something that will help mask any swirls that are left on the clear lay down a glaze before you seal the car...
