LSP and Smudging....Hellp on what to do to fix this

So I finished my 2007 Black Lexus IS250 two days ago. I had to wet sand a bit, compound with UC and LC Yellow, followed by Megs MFDA system, and topped with polycharged collinite 845... It looked amazing... I could almost not tell the car was black because the mirror images was coming off so strong... Now, my problem.... I have kids, and after two days every single fingerprint that was on the car was CLEARLY visible. Is there anyway to fix this? Is it because of the collinte? That is my guess since the collinite is oil based. Just wondering if maybe it is application and removal technique, but I went pretty much by the book and applied it super thin. I only used 1oz of the polycharged collinite for the whole car.... Any ideas??

If it was polished, then all prints should have been gone from (1) the washing, clay, etc. process and (2) the polishing process. If the prints are as a result of the kids touching it after the lsp was applied, then just use a good QD to remove smudges, prints, etc. Keep in mind, the higher the gloss, the more noticeable prints and smudges are going to be.

I think the prints are probably just more noticeable. No LSP is going to make finger grease drip off the paint onto the ground.

I would guess also that QD would be the first option. By the process you describe you probably already know/assumed this avenue of action. Have you tried it and with what results?

I am thinking that *very* weak IPAing might also help.

I am guessing that you are reffering to prints done after the whole work took place.

A careful wipedown with a quality QD then followed by a cold distilled water wipe will fix you up, it is hot where you live in the central valley(Per your PM to me) and that mixed with a Jet black car will cause "Issues" from time to time. Also use a quality microfiber towel to reduce or eliminate marring on the wipedown.

Teach them not to touch the car or buy them each a set of these!

So it's old or new fingerprints? Your op is a little vague.

Sorry for the unclarity... It is fingerprints from after application of LSP... of course, If I wet sanded, compounded, polished, and waxed correctly it couldnt be from fingerprints that were on the vehicle previously.... I just figured that I didnt need to state that, but reading over the OP maybe I was a little vague.

yes, I tried that... getting the prints off is not the problem... What im more concerned with is why its happening... Like is there any way to "harden" the wax up... I figured the polycharger would do that, but it seems the opposite happened. BTW, the polycharger really is amazing, if you havent tried it. I used collinite 845 by itself before, and since I added this polycharger, I can't believe the difference... I should really start taking pictures... I wish I could take good pics like "Auto Concierge", but everytime I take before and after pictures on my camera, THEY LOOK THE SAME...LOL. (In person they dont look the same, just to clarify)lol

Thanks Bob, Just the answer I was looking for... Im assuming that doing this may in a way "help harden the LSP? Kind of like shining your old combat boot toes?? wiping it with cold water and a cotton ball at the end? LOL I never thought about that until now...

Thats pretty much exactly it. It also provides a "helper" to lift away any excess LSP without suspending it so much(like an alcohol based QD might) that it smears again and again.

It's happening because the rugrats are putting their greasy paws on a glossy surface, same as if they touched clean glass or a mirror. Same as if you were touching it. Lock 'em in a closet til they're 18 then throw 'em out or teach them not to touch things. Clean and shiny and children rarely go together well.

TL <--- loves kids.... baked, BBQd, boiled or just plain far away from my cars
