Love at 1st sight ..

I love silicone !!
I've been toying with the thought of getting a new bike when all of a sudden poww! this beauty caught my eye and it as they say " the rest was history".

Detailing is still going steady and sometimes takes up my sundays . So I ride to work ( airport ) and whenever I get the chance..

I have UPP on it and wipe down with spray wax . I use woolite mix for the grimey stuff and it works great .

So the bike is a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R . 636cc over 100 hp. lots of torque . 15,500 rpm redline. Underseat exhaust .

The color is called Red Magma. It has alot of gold looking flake in the paint and even the frame!!! Notice the diff colors in the sun and shade.

the wife and i were looking at one of these the other day. exact same color and everything. very nice indeed!

Great bike, I especially love the carbon fiber (I'm a sucker for composites). I'm actually on the prowl for a similar bike, the ninja 250. I've heard it's a great starter bike (me, a first time motorcyclist) and it's quite fast while still getting 60-70 MPG. What kind of mileage do you get?

Aloha Tuba , Motorcycling is alot of fun and very addicting. Make sure to include the GF or wife because they 'll get jealous quick :(

By the look of your avatar you like speed so here's what cha do.
1. Take the Motorcycle safety course in your area. lots of tips , 15% off ins.

2. Buy a used bike 1st . Most likely you'll drop it in the driveway or in a pkg lot
or something like that . everybody has a funny story !!Once you feel comfortable you'll want to upgrade quick . The Ninja 250 is considered a good starter bike and a used one will be cheap. It'll give you lots of grins and good gas mileage but you'll outgrow it fast.

I haven't noticed what mileage I get .I'm always on the throttle anyway. This bike is sick..

Thanks for the compliments guys..

So cool. Do you have a bike license? How much did that run you. If a bike held more for supplies it'd be ideal for detailing :lol

I've been scanning e-bay for a while for one. If I have the money I'll probably get one next summer, mostly just for cheap single transportation (the CRX is the hauler) and I'll have a place to put it at that point (OSU doesn't allow motorized vehicles for freshman). For now I'm riding my dad's old 6-speed columbia (I think) road bicycle, it's not a motorcycle but it keeps up with campus traffic and it keeps me in shape.

well in Hawaii , you get your learners permit and go sogn up for the safety course. The class is 3 , 8hr days . Once completeing the class you get a waiver card that you take to the DMV and you get your license with no road test . The card also gives you 15% off insurance premiums.

You can take the drivers road test if you want but I think you need to have your own bike or use a bike provided that you'll be unfamiliar with .

They judge you on braking and turning and head movements so using a bike you haven't ridden before would be tricky . And say you own a big cruiser type of bike , you'll probably drop it or go outside the lines in the test .

So what I'm saying is take the course , its informative and you get your liscence at the end. Cost is about 200.00 depending on your area ..

The bike ran me about 8500 brand new. By far the best 600 cc out there..

Fantastic looking bike, I like the Ninjas way more than the R6s.

Please be careful on it though, hopefully HI is nothing like NJ traffic

Tuba: I wouldn't even consider a 250 if I were you. I would go with at least 500, but 600 if you can find one. A bunch of my friends all got into motorcycles, and I think 2 of them had 500s which they outgrew within a couple months. I think one kid I know has a new 250 and he really regrets its because its so slow. I would just get a 600 and be extra careful when you start out, you'll grow into and feel more comfortable in time.

The 250 would basically be for transportation instead of fun, my honda is for fun right now. I couldn't afford a 500-600 cc bike, the cheapest I've seen those is $3000-4000, I could swing payments on a $1000-2000 bike but much more than that would put me in a financial situation that would be rather bad (remember that I'm just starting college). Once I have the hang of the bike and the funds to move up in performance I would probably upgrade to something with a little more power.

I would get the 250 for your first bike. It has more of an upright seating position.Fast enough to go on the highway. It is also lite enough to learn how to properly ride and use your body to control the bike.Yes you will out grow the bike but the good thing is there are enough people always looking for starter bikes they have great resale.Plus you can go forever on a tank of gas.Ins is also cheap.Being on a buget you can't beat 60-70 mpg. my wife never has to fill up. min is a gas hog 30-34mpg

By the hawaiian e that is a sweet bike!I want to look at the new 600's but I can't seem to part with my twin for a i-4.I love the new 6r's,and 6rr's from Kawi but I wish they had the torque down low like my twin.I'd have one in a heartbeat if they did.
