Alright guys. First click n brag ever! Sorry it isn't better. The car is a 2002 Camaro Z28 in Navy Blue Metallic. My buddy just purchased it from the dealership today and my goodness do they blow at washing cars. In the pics, it's VERY hard to tell, but I have never seen such harsh water spots on the hood and everywhere else for that fact. There has never been wax on the car. He just wanted an exterior cleaning, and he only had 3 hours. Here's what I got done in the 3 hours:

I know I know, not much, but hey, I think it worked pretty well. The before shots blow, and the after shots aren't as good, but they show some pretty good results. I'll try and get more pics from him later.

The water spots are hard to see in this pic, but if you look, you can really see them EVERYWHERE.

I wish I could've worked the swirls out a little more, but I did the best with what time I had. Only charged $50 and he gave me $90, so it was a good day i'd say!

4 for the IP

3 for the RMG



I have no idea what brand of pads they are, I've had them for a while, that's why i'm looking for some new ones. any recommended brands?
 
Can't tell much for the picture - but IP applied via Dual Action polisher does't leave the clearest finish, especially on dark colors. Next time your bud comes back to you to hook is car up (and he surely will), follow IP with FPII and I guarentee you'll see the surface improve. Also, don't play around - set the speed at 6 unless your applying a glaze (in which case is really doesn't matter if it's at 4, 5, or 6).

Pads - I really like the Sonus SFX 6" pads for my PC when doing heavy polishing work, cause they are nice and firm (just the way I like 'em). For "soft" polishing and applying glazes, I like the white Propel II pads from Excel Detail. The yellow Megs softbuff pads are great, but they wear ouut too fast because the backing material doesn't go all the way across. Also, I have a feeling those new Erasure pads from Excel Detail are going to be great for DA polishers as well (have one on order to try out). By the way, just so you know I'm speaking from experience, I probalby have 40 different pads on hand that I've tried out.
 
I can now say with certaintly that you could not go wrong purchasing the new Erasure pads - and I'd say they are ideall suited for PC use, more so than the extremely popular Propel pads IMO (though the propels are kings of the rotary).
