Looks like I'm getting the Mustang Mach 1!!

Everything is falling into place as far as me getting the 2003 Mustang Mach 1 in Torch Red! The guy that has it for sale met up with me over the weekend so I could see it/drive it and he also took a look at my truck in which I'm selling because his son is interested in the truck. They want the truck which means that opens the door so I can get the Mach 1. I'm going to miss the truck dearly but the Mach 1 is an amazing car. Has the styling I like in a Mustang, has very low miles (9700 at time of test drive) and has enough power to hold me over. It will be a little better on gas but that doesn't even concern me right now. I just want something that looks good, sounds good and I can do a few mods without breaking the bank compared to lifting the F-150 like I had planned and such. The truck just isn't practical anymore, I was bored with it and most of all, I was SICK & TIRED of trying to keep a black truck looking like new.

The Mach 1 has a few paint chips on the front which is normal so I'm not concerned. One of the wheels is roughed up in a spot from rubbing against a curb, but no big deal, hopefully they will be replaced by the end of July. I have a few mods planned such as exhaust, window tint, bra for front(only for road trips,) interior pieces, new shift knob and a few dress up things for the under the hood. Suspension will come eventually but not until I can do it the right way.....coilover and all that jazz.

The car is Torch Red, what is the best products to keep it shine? I have the whole Poorboys line up, but I know GSRStill(you all know who I'm talking about) has a red car that looks amazing ALL the time. What does he use?

PS..for the most part, the car will have a space in the garage!! Finally I can keep up with it. The paint is in excellent condition but now that I have somewhere to keep it out of the weather when I'm not driving it, will be a dream come true!

Bigdog, thats great.
I'm glad to hear that you got the car that you wanted.
I can't wait to see the pics.

Don't worry, there will be a full detail inside and out. I saw the car on Sunday and it doesn't really need a detail. The owner keeps it spotless. It will be dirty after the 5 hour drive back to my house so that will warrant a full detail with pics. I will strip the wax, clay bar, possibly remove small scrathces if there even are any, polish, seal and top with many layers of Natty's. I can't wait to get it..I have to wait a couple weeks until the owner gets the title. Its going to be so nice to be able to take care of something smaller these days. The truck was a chore! I'm going to have to read up on how to care for the parts of the car that are flat black such as the Shaker and the spoiler. Is there anything out there besides an Ozone machine to get rid of smells? I want it to have a neutral smell after I get it so it won't take long for it to smell like ME and not the previous owner. It hasn't been smoked in but I don't feel like its mine if it has someone else's scent in it. Is that weird? I need to stop talking about the car until it gets closer to the time I pick it up. I've already been looking through catalogs for cheap enhancements for it. One of the first things will be a bra for the front for road trips.

Supercharger, tuner, exhaust now that's what you're talking bout. :dnaughty

No supercharger but exhaust will be a must sometime after I get back from a cruise in March. I have been trying to figure out which exhaust set up to go with and for now I think I'm either going to go with SLP Loudmouth or a Borla system. Magnaflow Magnapack catback is also an option but I'm just not sure yet. I want something LOUD, inside and out but not raspy at high RPM's.

mmmmm.... gotta love Mustangs. I had a 97 that I dumped waaaaaaay too much money in. Suspension, supercharger, nitrous, brakes, etc... It all adds up really really fast. I really wanted to sell it and buy a Saleen of the same year, but the wife wasn't having any of that. Oh well... I had my fun with a gorgeous car. I hope you get it. I loved driving my Mustang. I loved my Acura and I love my Subaru, but I would have taken a bullet for that Mustang.

SLP will sound sloppy and raspy as hell. Borla and Magnaflow have a nice sound...

A friend of mine has long tubes, X-pipe, and Magnapacks on a GT and it sounds incredible.

A good friend of mine had a white 03 Mach1. He was driving home one night and it was raining slightly. He was on an interchange and the back end got away from him and did a 180 and hit the curb on the passenger side and rolled one and a half times. Here is a picture of us at the slavage yard taking his stereo and whatever other personal stuff he had in there.

He walked away from the crash, really quite lucky, just scrapes and bruises.

However at the time of the crash he had a couple of mods waiting to be installed. I beleive that he still has a complete Hotchkiss suspension for the 03 Mach1 in his garage. If you are interested I can talk to him and get the exact parts list of what he has. I know he was trying to sell it but he is kind of lazy and probably gave up after a couple days. He is getting married this summer so I am sure he could use the money. Let me know with a response or a PM.

Well congrat's on the future purchase and joining the ranks of Mach owners. I've had my 03 Mach since new...first Stang ever (at 60 years old of all times).

Exhaust: I got the SLP Loudmouth and it is LOUD...NASCAR LOUD!...So, I swapped one of the other Mach owners here in Kansas City for the Loudmouth II's (same size muffler, but with packing and a core). Now, I really like the sound, very deep, and quiet at highway speeds (interior-wise anyway). SLP uses excellent materials in their construction. I ended up mirror polishing all the tubing, so it looks nice for car shows.

Good Luck. for finish care, I used Wolfgang Deep Gloss sealant (which I really liked), topped with Souveran for shows. Now, I've switched to Meg's #21 Sealant + Souveran + Adams Detail Spray for shows. My Mach has taken approx. 25 trophies in the last 3 years.

Nascar loud? Like annoying all the time or what? I want it loud and deep, inside and out. I want a reason not to use my cellphone while I am driving but I don't want it raspy when you rev to a high RPM. I wish I could hear different setups in person but that won't be possible until late July for Myrtle Beach Mustang Week....I want to have exhaust by then!

I had the SLP Loudmouth on my 02 SS Camaro. It is loud, very loud. But I loved it. At normal driving it is pretty loud, but at WOT it is really screaming. But then again, I say if it's too loud then you are too old.
