Looking to Try New Products

Hello everyone. I'm a long time Zaino user looking to step out and try some new product, and perhaps cutting down on the time it takes in my clay-to-LSP regiment. Again, I'm looking for something that gives me the glassy pop that Zaino does, but eliminates the need to mix chemicals together to make the product work (ala mixing ZFX + Z5, etc.)

Currently my routine is as follows:

- Shampoo (Zaino Z7)
- Clay (whatever is on the local shelves, to me its all the same)
- Shampoo again
- Polish with Poor Boy's 2.5 (LC orange pad)
- Polish with Menzerna Final Polish (Blue or White pad)
- Shampoo again
- Use Zaino Z5 (mixed with ZFX so multiple coats can be applied in one day)
- Wipe down with detailing spray Zaino Z-6
- Repeat use of Zaino and wipe down with Z-6 at least 3 times (over the course of 24 hours)
- Top with Zaino Grand Finale Spray Seal

To replace the use of Zaino Z5 + Z6 wipe down, I'm considering going with Blackfire Wet Diamond + BF Polymer seal. I have never top or used a wax at all and have no desire to add this to my routine.

Does anyone know if this BF would be a good replacement for Z5 and Z6? I know making a comparison if you've never used both products is a hard thing to do. Perhaps someone who has used both products might see this and comment. Even if you have not used both, your feedback is welcome and solicited. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Many thanks.

Welcome to AF !!!! I was a long time Zaino user as well. It was a great product line however after trying out Blackfire I have never looked back :)

I second this one. I used to thinkg Zaino was the best thing out there but I had no idea what else was out there.

I still have my zaino setup. I use ZAIO every now and then for a quick clean/protection by hand but have not used any of the other stuff I have from zaino in almost two years.

You will like the Blackfire line. The Spray Sealant is awesome and works great as a drying aid as well. This spray reminds me of Z8 but easier to apply without streaking.

If you really want a time saver, pm me your addy and I'll send you a couple ounces of Blackfire Crystal Seal to try

If you have the skill to use Zaino, I would jump to a coating. it will last longer and since I know from experience, that Zaino will not hide any imperfections, I assume you are skilled at polishing out the paint.

EXO v2 and CquartZ and Black Label are all fine choices. My experience is with the EXO and I love it.

Backfire Wet Diamonds is another great choice, as it is a top tier conventional sealant but for me I am into the longer durability of coatings.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts. Sorry, it took so long to respond. I've been in a location where wifi is limited. I have become fairly adept at paint correction, but am no means an expert. I just try and keep my paint as defect free as possible so that ultimately, when I do polish, which is at least once a year, there is little correction to be made.

Nutbread, I will PM you in a bit. The seal sounds intriguing as well as the coating that JSFM35X mentions. As I said I'm open for any and all suggestions. I have two black cars, a BMW 335i and a big honkin' Yukon Denali. Keeping them straight, clean, and defect free is a terrible habit. But it keeps me out of the casinos.

Thanks again, everyone.

BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal or Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal will give you the look and durability you expect in a fraction of the time you are accustomed to. You can use the Polymer Spray to maintain the sealant.

Blackfire and their different products will give you a fantastic look as will other products on the market. My one warning to you is that Zaino has a look completely unique to their products. While other products will produce fantastic finishes they just won't duplicate what you get with Z2 or Z5. They will be much easier to use though. I have a black Bentley GT scheduled this coming week and I ordered Z5 for the occasion. I haven't used Zaino in probably 3 years but I am stoked at the thought of it layered on this scheduled full correction. Something about that reflective plastic look I have missed. Plus I am bored with what is in my cabinet.

You might want to consider Menzerna Powerlock--very easy to apply, easy to wipe off, looks fantastic and you should be able to get at least 6 months of protection.

I used Zaino, exclusively, for 3 years. Once I used Wet Diamond, I never went back.

Why would you change such an AWESOME user name?!?!?

Apparently there are forum members who frown on tongue-in-cheek fun and reported the moniker to the user name po-po. While the handle is accepted in many "family friendly" forums across the net and viewed in a humoruos manner, my intention is never to make anyone uncomfortable with my presence, so I agreed to change the name to the beloved protagonist in Ken Kesey's masterpiece. My only hope now is that there are no head nurses named Ratched that frequent this site.

Sorry to hear, but doesn't surprise me. We are now raising a nation of sissys

I will continue your legacy by using your former name the next time I go out to eat and have to wait on a table

Harry Back#@^&*, your table is ready!
