Well after a hard search I cannot find a Chihuahua in my area..If anyone knows of anyone or a good website (no frauds) I have already dealt with one website where a person in Nigeria, Africa emailed me...(the nerve of some people) Im looking for a baby chihuahua, up to date on shots, house trained....Any info please get back to me! i would also suggest petfinder.com and any type of rescue group that is breed specific. Here is one I found when doing a google search http://www.netpets.com/dogs/dogresc/breeds/dogchih.html. It has a contact for Michigan

I am not trying to change your mind by no means...but a Chihuahua can be a high maintenance dog..as they are prone to getting colds..can be hurt easy..my aunt had one and also a co-worker and they spent more time at the vets will illness...not saying all Chihuahua's are like that...but if you do decide to get a puppy..get from a private breeder and not a pet shop...as Chihuahua's are a very popular puppy mill dog cause of size.
If looking for a terrier look at a Jack Russel ..one of the smartest and friendliest dogs I have come across..many friends of mine have them and they are awsome..very athletic good frissbee players...lol.. and they seem very loyal to the owners.
Remember..try to rescue a dog first..give them a chance in life...I have rescued 4 dogs so far and never regretted it once..I have 2 now and they are my best friends...
Have fun in your venture finding a friend..but take your time and get what you want

I had two Border Collies got them when they where pups and that was 15 years ago one died and the other one died soon after. Those two Border Collies was vary high maintenance they would run all day fact is you have to make then stop running because they would flop over and die because they would run them self’s to death. When in back of the truck all they would do is bark and stick there heads to the wind. The female would body slam the male at a full run, they would hunt as a team for woof rats. One thing I remembered about having those dogs is that they owned me.

She can be the most hyper thing imaginable during the day but at night she is a complete couch potato- always wanting to be around people or sitting with someone, and she loves to sleep at the foot of my bed. Petfinder.com is a great site and that is where my girlfriend found our daughter Lucy. She is a terrier mix and makes a great companion for our Schnauzer Oscar. We actually got her from the Schnauzer rescue because she supposedly had Schnauzer in her but I am not sure of that. It doesn’t matter anyway.
I would go with a rescue 100%. It is a much more gratifying feeling knowing that we saved our kids from being put to sleep. I can't imagine why they were on the street to begin with because they are both house trained, loyal, and sweet.
Another big advantage with a rescue is price. Most agencies will only want to recover what they have in the animal. Most of the times it’s not much and even if it seems like a lot it’s nothing compared to going to a puppy mill.
When going through pet finder be certain that you have your stuff together. They may ask for references, ask which vet you will take them to, and will probably want to tour your home. You may think you are about to adopt a child, well you are it just isn’t totally human
Be careful on the breed you are looking for. For example while many people suggest a Jack Russell Terrier, which may be an excellent breed, this might not be the dog for YOU. They can be VERY hyper animals and if you are gone most of the day this may be a problem. You know your lifestyle and know how much time you have to devote to your new pet. Get something that falls in line with that. Anything else and you might not be happy with your choice.
For instance I knew that I needed to find an older dog because I couldn’t devote the time it takes to train a puppy. Both my g/f and I work and are gone for 9-10 hours at a time. An older dog was the perfect solution for us and Schnauzers do not require plenty of physical activity.
Since I referred to my kids so many times in this thread it was only fair that I post a picture for you too

Very cute kids Twitch And I am also glad I didnt fall for the scam...sometimes the deals that seem too good to be true...just are. It really ticks me off the nerve of these people, I feel bad for the many people who probably do get scammed everyday and cant do anything about it.

twitch, the fence is there to keep him from going back there and peeing . Plus the wires for the TV and speakers are back there as well. What you don't see is the 3' fence that we keep him in as his play area in the living room. He's learned how to climb the fence though

Alright well I am busy working 70 hours this week due to the Tulip Time festival in west michigan....while at work a fellow employee brought in their puppy that is for sale..is up to date on all shots, ready to go...house trained...its a miniature dashound mixed, it isnt as long as they usually are. THe thing is my mom doesnt know Im going to bring it home...shes always told me we couldnt have a dog...and I kept looking to find the perfect one because I know once she sees it she will change her mind..it has very short hair that doesnt shed bad at all, hes so small so he wont be knocking over things...he doesnt chew on crap...he waits by the door if he needs to go to the bathroom to let you know...he loves to cuddle and be close to people...he loves other animals and kids...hes perfect in my eyes...and the moment I held him i knew he was meant for me..The thing is I want to go out and buy the stuff I will need this weekend to be ready for him on Monday...Im going to buy him some chew toys, and he has a special blanket he loves which Im going to buy some more...I need to find one of those pee mats they use because he uses one of those now - - - To make sure he doesnt have accidents in the house I should feed him in the morning..wait 30 minutes and take him outside...then feed him again later in the day if need be correct? Then I wont come home to suprises..Also, Im probably going to purchase some fencing we can put up in the backyard under a shade tree so he can go outside during the day if we are gone and its nice. We already have a dog house from our last dog...Anything else I should buy to get ready...and make sure everything goes smoothly - thanks!
