Hello all...I recently moved to Socal from NY. If anyone knows of any automotive industry related jobs (non tech requirement) please let me know. Thanks guys.

Hey perhaps we can partner up :D. My wife and I are expecting our first born, and I could really use a job right now (Long story but I was handling my grandfathers estate - ended up getting backstabbed by family too... over money :( )!!!

Living in Burbank now, but looking to relocate closer to the 405, this side of the 101.

We are a mobile auto detailing business that serves from Pasadena to Upland.

We will be hiring as soon as our new workers comp application goes through. It could be as soon as last week in March.

I am looking for hard working, reliable, non-smoker that can easily follow directions. There is an employees manual that must be strictly adhered. No experience preferred we will train you.

Please e-mail me to set up an interview if interested.

Hi, I'm not looking for a job, i just read your post and was wondering? I'm not busting your tail or anything.. Please understand that first. Why NON smokers? Are you some kind of holy roller? This to me is an insult. Next your going to give out some bogus excuse about your insurance policy is the reason. I'm sorry if i hurt anyone's feeling's, but we all have bad habits and smoking is one of them. I'am a smoker and hate it when the so called NON SMOKERS make it a point to bust on smokers. I dont go after the people that are flogging sheep... Just asking..

I have to chime in on this: "youre insulted"...please...now you sound like a holy roller. If the boss of a company decides he doesnt want to work with someone that: 1. may stink like smoke 2. will need smoke breaks 3. could hinder his business...its up to him. I am a non-smoker and hate it when smokers say that their rights are being violated or they are being discriminated against. Its rude to think someone doesnt mind inhaling that toxic fix of yours. Why would even go through the trouble of posting your message if youre not try to bust his balls.

car design, BEAUTIFUL RESPONCE!

I have had smokers work with me in the past (my father and brother who I love dearly are smokers. My Mother quit 8 years ago after smoking for 35+ years) and many of those employees were excellent detailers, but .......

1. smokers smell bad
2. smokers leave their bad smell in places they have been
3. smokers need their frequent smoke breaks, not fair to non-smokers
4. I have found when they don't get their smoke breaks performance goes south.
5. I am in the business of CLEAN, smoking with the smell and the ash and all doesnt look good.
6. my clients perfer I don't bring smokers. It has always been a hassle in the past-"could you please move over there and smoke" or "he isn't going to do my interior I hope"
7. I don't want to see or smell it
8. out of over 200 regular clients NONE ARE SMOKERS
9. ---- well I could go on and on, but why?

What if I farted all the time? Around you , in your car, my clothes smelled like it? While you ate? How would you like that? At least my gas won't give you cancer and/or the other associated health problems.

I happen to be a chronic farted soo what...lol..

Lets just put it this way. I talked to joe and he seems like a decent guy. First off, it is HIS business, how he chooses to run his business is HIS choice as an owner and his privilege. Secondly, you have the wonderful benifit of, not working with him, if his rules don't apply to you.

But the main reason for me is: The client.

Why? Smoking, or the smell of smoke, perhaps even the sight of an employee smoking, is just plain bad for business. Example: Your needs as an employee does concern me, but the client is important to, with out him/her there is no company and hence no employee. I would have to take in concideration that we are here for the client first and formost, and to represent ourselves as a clean respectable company every measure should be taken to portray that. The employees habits, does not concern me when it comes to the overall well being of the business.

I wouldn't care if 99% of all the clients could care less or even liked inhaling tobbacco by the ton. If it offends 1% of the clientele then you are doing some thing wrong. Period.

Business is business. How you succeed depends greatly on how you operate.
Just my 2/100ths

[Rant] You seem to have a tendancy to make these type of posts. :dunno I don't understand, nor do I know, what your problem is, but here's my personal take. I don't have anything personally against smokers (my brother smokes and I give him crap for it all the time - he's a traveling nurse, he should know better), but I really don't like the smell, yellow fingers, cancer, and many of the other things associated with smoking. That doesn't make me or anyone else a "holy roller." Not a knock on smokers, but it's usually smokers who are "violating the rights" of others by blowing that crap all over the place where the rest of us have to breathe. Just because someone does not share the same views with you about voluntarily harming their body doesn't mean you have to be rude about it. It's his business, and he's laid out some very good reasons why he's looking for non-smokers. I don't wanna spend $100+ to get my car detailed, only to get it back and it smell like a pool hall. [/Rant]

Not everyone who smokes is a rude as you seem to be about it, so hopefully I didn't step on too many toes.

I'm not being rude. Trust me i can be extremely rude if need be. I just find it amazing that these NON smokers or better yet X-Smokers make it sound like smoking is the devils work. I'am by far Not a Holy Roller. I'am far from just that. The NON/X Smokers just take away a bad habit that we smokers have that is legal. If i'am in a bar and am smoking and you dont like it, move away from me. If you chew tabacco and spit all over the place i would rather move away from you, now that is a nasty dirty habit, but alot of people do chew. If you are a drop down drunk acting like an a$$ i will move away from you. I bet all of you guys are drinkers though. Maybe not at work, but at home, How many of you dabble in some sort of illegal drug activity? How many of you drink coffee? We all have bad habits whatever they may be, but you may just be passing up a great worker because of what he/she has as a habit. So for now if any of you dont like what i write here please, dont read it.

If you farted all the time around me or in my car i would throw you at a very high rate of speed. Prove that cigarette's cause cancer, You can't and neither can the government. Yes, they stink, yes they make your teeth yellow, yes it's a bad habit, but don't discriminate against someone just because they are a smoker. I don't discriminate against someone that flogs sheep or other barnyard animals, that is what they are into.
