Looking for the best *LOW GLOSS* interior protectant/cleaner, or technique

Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant is a water based dressing, it won't turn the tires brown. Ask me how I know.:D

I'd keep the burgundy QD though (and definitely keep that spray bottle!). I have some of that QD and it seems just fine to me.

My car is low with 19" rims, so I can't get my hand in the wheel wells to shine them up.

I can hit it with a spray bottle, but I'm afraid of getting all over the tread and wrecking if that's possible.

How do you get in these narrow spaces?

Well i remove the tires when i detail wheel wells.:D

I'm going to paint my calipers this weekend, so I guess that's a good time to hit the wheel wells. I just can't see pulling off the wheels every week though. One of the things I like about my wheels is that I can get them really clean without removing them or any lug nuts.

I picked up some cheap foam paint brushes at the dollar store when I was getting some microfibers, so I'll see if I can get some armor all back there with the brush too. I gotta use that crap up on something.

Oh, I was confusing it with something else. I have that Natural Shine stuff too. A little greasy. I thought the bottle said not to use it on tires. I don't know why. I'll have to check it again when I get a chance.

I agree it is a big task, i pull my tires off once a month or so for a full detail. I also use small foam paint brushes to apply my protectants in narrow spaces, they work well. :)

Dave,

You might be able to get enough room to work in the wheel wells simply by jacking up the car. The suspension should droop at least a few inches . . .

Just a thought,

That's a very good idea!

Also to avoid getting anything on tread simply cover it with old towel.

Good idea! That would give me plenty o' room.

Great info guys. I can always keep the "other" stuff for the "other" ride that won't be getting the full treatment anyway. On the wheel wells, I was going to suggest the towel thing, but also cut the wheels all the way to one side to do the front of one, rear of the other, then cut them all the way to the other side for the rest. For the front's only that is. :p May save some work up front, unless your tires are really wide.

I've never tried the 303 stuff so I can't give a judgment.

However, I use zaino z16 tire gloss on my interior. I use it on everything black, plastic,or rubber, except I have never used it on my tires. It is the best stuff that I have ever used on my interior. It lasts a long time I only use it twice a year. For instance I used it on my black plastic mirrors and they looked real clean and shiny without being too shiny. Even after 5 or 6 washings the mirrors would shine just like I had just applied the z16. Grant it my car sits in the garage in the winter but it is a daily driver spring-fall. It will put a "luster" to your dash but not a cheesy shine like armorall. Anyone else every try this?

Based on the rave reviews on this site, my 303 order is on its way.

I currently use ProtectAll for everything in the interior except carpet (based on rave reviews from another site).

Can anyone compare 303 Aerospace Protectant vs. ProtectAll for interior use? (leather, vinyl, glass, chrome, rubber)?

Thanks.

You might also try Poorboy’s World “Natural Look for your non-gloss interior dressing. I’ve been playing with this stuff for a little while now and really like it. Look great on tires, the plastic liners in your wheel wells and exterior trim and the plastic, vinyl and leather in interiors. Real easy to apply, dries to the touch and it smells good too. Several of my customers have been very impressed with the results when I used it on their vehicles.

Check it out at this link. http://www.poorboysworld.com/index.html
