Looking for a wax to protect......

Hi there. I'm looking for a wax that can withstand bird poo...? I'm not having any luck with a sealant that I'm using now. I have a few stain etch onto the clear coat already. I just wax for 1 day & the next day I got the bird poo. Can the new Opti-Seal protect against bird poo? I couldn't find any details from their optimum website? Any recommendations are welcome. TQ. :wavey

No wax will protect your paint from bird poop 100% of the time. For that you need a car cover.

The acidity of bird droppings is dependent on what they are eating. Some times you can get away with no etching and others it begins attacking the paint almost immediately.

I've personally found that NXT Tech wax protects from these events better than others. This is from seagull droppings anyway. Still, it really is a "Crap Shoot". Sometimes you get lucky, other times you need a PC.

I don't think any wax/sealant is going to protect you 100% from bird poop. I think your best bet is to keep it protected at all times, and keep a QD and microfiber in the car for the occasional bird droppings. Just let them soak, and then blot. Don't wipe them off with the QD.

The only wax with durabiltiy is Colinite.
Collinite is known for its durability.

Agreed.....

Due to the acidic nature of bird droppings, your best defense is to remove the droping as soon as possible.

No wax or sealant can 100% protect your finish. THe longer it sits, the more prone you are to etching.

I've done very well with multiple applications of Collinite 476S. When the Volvo was outside 24/7 it protected it quite well against stuff like bird-bombs.

Collinite it is then. Thks to u all.... :) I have a few bottles of sealants....? Now I guess I will just use them as based layer & top up with Collinite. I think I'll get the IW 845. Since its liquid & easier to work with. Why is it that carnauba based waxes are better to protect against the bird-bombs? It is coz of the oil in it. I used to use carnauba but I switch over to sealants coz I like the bright shine & reflectiveness. When I was using carnauba based waxes, I don't have this problem...... I even sometimes leave it on the car & when I reached home, then I wipe the bird poo off without getting the stain. I'll try to get the Collinite. Thks guys. :)

Some birds eat gravel/tiny rocks to aid digestion. Rubbing/wiping a bird bomb would likely induce marring. Best to soak and blot, IMO.

No wax will protect from bird droppings. A Silica, or Pre-ceramic sealant will not degrade at all. I would look into Matrix Coatings, a permanent sealant that is completely resistant to bird droppings.

I'm jumping in late and you'll be going with Collinite and I can't recommend anything better.

I park under a tree where they roost at night so I have to deal with droppings very often.

Thanks to fresh #845 I don't have any noticeable etchings but I do blast off residue with a garden hose quite often.

Good choice.

A few of us have wondered about that...we've noticed the unusually effective protection of the carnaubas and sorta  but I don't believe we've ever come up with a good explanation :nixweiss

Hi Accumulator, yup..... me too. I used to use carnauba wax only. I left the bird poo for quite long under the sun & after work I reach home only I wipe it off. I don't get the etching stain on the clear coat. My friends would tell me to better wipe it off & I would tell my friend, don't worry it would be fine. I have a carnauba on it. Funny...huh? :nixweiss TQ.
