Looking for a very specific detailing tool

New to the forum , hoping I can get a small problem solved

I have a vehicle that has acorn style lug nuts in a recessed hole in the wheel

Problem there is very little clearance between the lug nut and the hole recess , consequently brake dust forms up inside there where you just can't get to it, the rest of the wheel is easily cleaned and I have brown dirty lug nuts-- it looks awful. I could use a harsh chemical spray like fall out remover or equivalent but I would rather have a tool. Does anyone know of a special specific cleaning tool to go over the lug nuts in the recess to facilitate cleaning and where I could get it ?

Thanx

It took me awhile to find it but this brush is the absolute best for getting into those recessed places in wheels and a lot of other key places --- DI Brushes ATLASTA Soft Tip Brush | Free Shipping Available - Detailed Image

Couldnt find one here at Autopia, sorry guys...

I had one like this that BMW made years ago for cleaning their wheels - found it at their parts department inside the dealership..

This one is like that brush but probably better..
Hope this helps-

I'd stick to natural-bristle versions of the cylindrical brushes rather than the "flagged nylon" ones, if only because the flagging will wear down.

I still end up using swabs for the final passes though (same for the valvestem pocket). No matter how clean I think I got things with the brushes, by the time I do those areas on all four wheels with a swab there's ample evidence that the additional step was needed.

I have used the BMW version (which is no longer sold by them) of this brush for years and never scratched anything.. :) The bristles are not damaged or changed in any way.. This brush is pushing 10 years and hundreds of wheels later..

I always use a good soap in addition to a dedicated wheel cleaner first that was allowed to dwell before rinsing and brushing.

If additional brushing was needed then I used the car wash soap at the END of the carwash process after the chenille wash mitt was removed from the bucket sans gritguards.. :)

I have a 2nd brush like the one in the link that is used surprisingly, as they have shown in their pics in all those same places !!! It's amazing, isnt it ? :)

It will also never hurt to have a pressure washer handy to really get into places even brushes cant reach and move things out that dont belong there..
Good luck with your research, re-tired !
